America is no longer #1, you know they aren't when they desperately need to try and stay relevant. China's running by them as the capitalist hollowed out our people for profits. Good on them! @@justanghozzst8218 In the 1980s, Japan was poised to overtake the USA economically due to its rapid industrial growth and dominance in sectors like technology and automobiles. However, the Plaza Accord of 1985, an agreement among major economies, were forced by USA on Japan, caused the Japanese yen to appreciate significantly against the US dollar. This made Japanese exports less competitive and contributed to an asset bubble in Japan's real estate and stock markets. When the bubble burst in the early 1990s, Japan entered a prolonged period of economic stagnation, known as the 'Lost Decade,' which ultimately stalled its trajectory of surpassing the US economy. China is not Japan. China remembers the 'Hundred Years of Humiliation,' when great powers like the USA, UK, Russia, Prussia, Japan, and others robbed its wealth, divided its territories, and exploited it at will. Never again to USA

Short-sighted is donnie's middle name. No decision under lord donnie has most Americans behind it. He only got 20% of eligible voters. Low turnout elections in the US always have terrible results. His misplaced confidence goes in every direction. It's a huge mistake to think most Americans agree with him. They don't. Even his own voters don't. They cherry pick what they like & pretend he meant something else other than what he said on all the other stuff. People that vote for donnie work on a wishful thinking basis. First of all, China controls the vast majority of minerals, and secondly, it masters most of the refining technology. Even other countries have to ship their products to China for production. Also, gallium is a by-product of electrolytic aluminum and cannot be produced directly, so you have to produce as much aluminum as China does. Where does your aluminum go? According to data, China consumed 500 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to produce aluminum in 2021. How do you think the United States, which has experienced several nationwide blackouts, will make up for this energy gap? You have to find or purchase mining areas, establish supply chains, factory power plants, refining plants... So, whether it is the environmental, energy, and infrastructure problems brought about by the storage, mining, and refining of raw materials, which one can the United States solve now? If so, how long will it take to solve it? 4years or decades

Things are different from what you imagine. Even if you have a large amount of aluminum ore, it is difficult to produce this element because there is no professional production line for it. Gallium is a metallic element, silver white in color, and soft in texture. Used as raw materials for optical glass, vacuum tubes, semiconductors, etc., China produces 41 million tons of aluminum annually, accounting for more than half of the global aluminum production. When producing this aluminum, China extracts gallium from waste materials. If you want to produce this element in large quantities, you must build a large-scale aluminum metal refining factory

China is only banning the export of key materials now because China has made a breakthrough in chip manufacturing technology. China can already manufacture most chips by itself. Since hostile countries have banned China from importing high-end chips, you can forget about getting key materials. You don't have to manufacture chips yourself. Countries in the world that are friendly to China can buy cheaper chips from China. This should be China's strategy.

the way this RESTRICTION works is they must submit papers for material purchase. They will review and then approve the sale AMOUNT based on the production figures. Later an audit will be done to verify the figures, and if found untrue, the entity will be PERMANENTLY banned. so bit by bit, the buyers will face more and more restrictions until they can't source any materials. all these means a VERY PROTRACTED sale process. and expensive too.
