Not one of my favorite sonatas but i alot of people seem to like it and i suppose the 3rd movement has its moment, here is yet another chance to experience the unique sound of francescatti

One of MY very favorite sonatas. And Francescatti and Casadesus--an unbeatable duo, along with Thibaud and Cortot, IMO.

Ruggiero Ricci's opinion: "I hate the Franck sonata, I'd rather listen to Frank Sinatra". Even as a child, hearing it for the first time in a recital by Oistrakh and Yampolsky I thought the frequent changes between minor and major uninteresting. But I was converted by the recording on DGG by Ferras and Barbizet. Nerveux, fevrieux, passionné as the French say. Francescatti is by comparison boring. His edition has bowings and fingerings worth trying.
