FRANCIS HATES WINDOWS 10!

Recently one of Francis's pc's auto-updated to windows 10 without his permission. Francis is furious. Many PC's have been updating without the permissions of users of windows 7 or windows 8. Even for users who told their pc NOT to update!

Not to be THAT guy but that's a definition of a malware not a virus. While viruses are a category of malware they are different. A virus copies itself in order to corrupt data and system files while malware is a broad term of any unwanted code that may cause harm to your computer (adware, spyware, worms, trojans, virus etc.). Daxter-Do you need Windows? If you know how to 'pirate' Windows, then you are not stupid. Just earlier this morning, Vista (yes, Vista, because Windows is a bad system) wouldn't start (black screen, HD light burning incessantly). After a system restore, Firefox gives me that XCOM error. OS X since 2004, Linux since 2007, and only Windows is giving me problems (like today). Despite all the "Windows 7 is better", "Windows 8 is better", and now "Windows 10 is better", I don't buy that nonsense (anymore). So, Vista is the last version I'll have. After that it will be Linux Forever. Daxter, mate, if you don't absolutely need Windows, try Linux. If you don't already know Linux, you'll feel so relieved.

+Peter Griffin Windows 10 is okay, but the setup suck. It's a lot of things that I can't do with Windows 10 as in Windows 7 or XP. My biggest reason of why Windows XP was the best was about the stability. The Windows XP never got any slower at all, and the setup and commands are easy to understand and to learn more in depth with it. I had my Windows XP for 3-4 years. My Windows Vista PC worked fine after 2 weeks and stopped working completely after half a year. But my Windows 7 worked also really good, but it still didn't last so long until it got fucked up by something I couldn't understand. My Windows 7 was maybe my own fault, but the Windows Vista was garbage. It updated itself every day, it checked for viruses and deleted my PC game memories, it had a very long loading time, it didn't give me allowance for basic programs as Java and Flash Player and it lagged when I was playing online flash games.

+Spynxie Matrix Well, if you did the upgrade, it's going to run like shit for a long time. That isn't Windows 10, that's Windows in general. Replacing your operating system and leaving all the files is a really bad idea, because there is a lot of junk left behind, and all of your programs are still configured for the previous version of Windows. Windows 10 when installed from scratch and started as a clean slate is pretty great. It's also ships with the best screen recorder I've ever used.

yo - Actually, I heard there is one way to make Cortana sort of blind & deaf, and there's another way to cripple her badly, but your PC might not function properly with the latter option. Also, Microsoft is working on giving Cortana the ability to boot up & automatically log onto your PC, even without you typing in your username & password. This is so Cortana can answer spoken questions without having to bother her users with the tedious task of logging on. What a 'convenience' for Windows users!! Of course, it will also be a 'convenience' for hackers, too, as they will have another avenue to get into your PCs, without even having to know your username & password!! I have my Win7 PC set to ask me when to download and install updates. Never once did it offer me to go to 10 on it. My biggest problem with Windows 10 so far has been the fact that my documents and pictures have been moved to Windows (C:) > Users > Name > Pictures/documents, and pictures and documents (that's under This PC like it always has been) has been replaced with fucking OneDrive pictures and documents. No Microsoft, I don't want to use your stupid, limited online service when I just need an external hard drive. I know it's not that big of a deal but when my stuff was moved from an update I thought I lost 7 years worth of artwork and important info. To say the least, I wasn't too happy about that and maybe if it told me "Oh by the way, your stuff has been moved to here..." it probably wouldn't have been that bad, but now I hate Windows 10 because of that.

I usually skip Francis videos as I never really enjoyed this kind of character on youtube videos, but I have to say that I am 100% fully agreeing with Francis here. This is unacceptable. I chose 7 because compatibility issues. I play old stuff. I fly Microsoft Flight Simulator and it's an old 32bit 2006 software. I don't want to risk incompatibility and going through 4 years of tweaking, addon installing (450GB of addons) and other stuff. Plus, like Francis said: I didn't give you permission. I even explicitelly told you to NOT install it.

Search for KB3035583 under your installed updates tab within the control panel (it's control panel > programs > programs and features > installed updates), and delete it. It'll tell you to restart your machine, which you should. Right afterwards, you should be safe from the Win10 popups from then on. Just make sure you switch off the automatic update installation thing all windows computers have.

They even reissue them so they automatically get added to the next download list if you hide them. kb:3035583, kb:3022345, kb:3068708, kb:3075249, kb:3080149, kb:2990214 , kb:3012973, kb:2952664, kb:2976978. That is the old list from December, might have been updated since.

+Michael Holmes You would be absolutely correct, if Microsoft wasn't manually re-uploading the update every now and then, it doesn't happen often, I think it's only happened like 3 or 4 times since they started pushing Windows 10 but they are aware of people deleting the update from the Windows Updates list and are manually re-sending this one. The best thing to do is to get a program called "GWX Control Panel," it should help you keep Windows 10 at bay, but it does not hurt to delete the update either, it just won't stop Windows 10 in the long run. I just keep auto-updates off just in case.

No, as long as you downgrade within 30 days. If you do a fresh installation then it will delete all of the files and programs on your computer if you select the entire hard drive. :)

If you want Windows 7 back. I have an easy solution. Get a external hard disk (hard drive) and back up your files!! But you probably need a external hard drive that has larger space than the hard drive you have now for safe measures. Take your computer, format the hard drive and start out with a fresh install. Then take the files on the external hard drive and import the files from the external hard drive and boom, there you go!!
