Francis Ngannou has officially parted ways with the UFC and vacated the belt. Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane has been announced as the heavyweight vacant title fight for UFC 285 but there's something amiss... what happened to Francis Ngannou?

This whole fiasco made me realise how easy it is for the UFC to muddy the waters around a fighter and how easily fans lap it up and turn on them.

The UFC is not above corporate astroturfing either, so many paid trolls bashing Francis and defending the UFC without responding to anyone who counters them. These same trolls were absent when Francis beat Ciryl, and only came back after Francis left the UFC.

The president of the ufc hit his wife. Still has a job, no charges. Does a man who would strike any woman, let alone his wife, bashing someone for not letting him get his way surprise you? If you don't wanna give them those 2, increase the base pay, give them 25 dollars per ppv buy instead of 10. If you don't wanna do those 3, let there be a fighter advocate in board meetings. The business doesn’t belong to the fighters. It belongs to the promotion. Fighters are paid by the numbers that they bring in. Why do you think mcgregor made so much in the ufc. He generated money. Ngannou is not a huge star in mma. He doesn’t bring in as many eyes as someone like mcgregor.
@hendrixbase8748
@hendrixbase8748 Жыл бұрын
@@xhrys4444 you use McGregor as an example, yet Forget that McGregor's legacy is forgotten in a heart beat because of how much he clowned himself in the UFC. He sold fights by being a talkative and insulting person, burning bridges with fighters here and there. Again, all of this hasn't explained why there isn't as little as a fighter advocate. Or health insurance. Anyways, the Ufc's time is coming up soon. Everybody is beginning to realize there's more to everything than UFC. It may take 10 or 15 years but the monopoly the UFC has on the fight business will weaken. You UFC fans want to see wars and see fighters bleed and break their body to please y'all, but don't want the UFC to give fighters even as little as health insurance.
@hendrixbase8748

@@xhrys4444 Izzy used his mouth and charisma to sell fights, what happened? People said he's not humble and needs to be taught a lesson. Colby embraced a clown persona, he's insulted and berated for that. Most of you "mma" fans just want WWE without WWE. Real MMA fans want to see combat between two dudes or women, sweaty, using their technique and their fighting skills should be at the fore front..not wether they know how to shoot a WWE promo.

To have a beast like Francis get humbled by Stipe really made him work hard hungrier and more dangerous. And the Stipe rematch and the Gane title defense proved he is the true champion. Dana came up with an excuse not to be in the cage when Ngannou beat Cyril in order to put the belt around him. Didn’t show up at the presser either. Avoided Francis. Francis reached out to Dana regarding negotiations, and Dana didn’t respond. Dana doesn’t like Francis because Dana can’t bully and intimidate Francis, like he does with other fighters. I guess it takes being the BMOTP to stand strong against the most powerful forces in MMA. All respect to Francis. I hope he, Kamaru, and Israel, end up creating their own fight promotion. Francis is my favorite fighter and I will always be his fan. The news of him leaving the UFC is sadening and I thought he couple more fights before leaving. This whole negotiation thing is really confusing to me, I don't totally get what Francis want from the UFC and what he expects to get outside it. As the biggest fight promotion company, leaving the UFC will be a net loss for him and what he wishes to accomplish. UFC deals are shit and especially for new fighters, but to hell with that man we live in a savage world, he really should have gotten as much money and exposure before leaving and then it would be much easier for him to box for even go to other promotion with good money already made and established title defenses.
