Doesn't the person with the Slate need the chain tesnsioner because of the oval chainring or is it just my eyes/an optical illusion?
@DL-mv8ii7 ай бұрын
Usually not - if you think about it, half of the chainring is wrapped in chain regardless of its orientation on the oval - although the top and bottom runs of chain are very slightly different in angle depending where in the rotation the chainring is, the effect on chain length overall is minimal.
@FurySpyder7 ай бұрын
@@DL-mv8ii in a perfect world, yes, but as someone who rides singlespeeds (but has never tried oval rings on any bike) I know that even supposedly round rings aren't perfectly round and can result in some transmission noise due to the chain tension changing very slightly. I bought a Falath Evo out of curiosity and I find myself riding it more often than any other bike in my garage and that saddle isnt the Elves inhouse 3D printed saddle let alone being 3D printed at all, bro got scammed. Regarding the seatpost height, I got a bike fit done and my recomended top tube length for is 545mm with a 100mm stem and 714mm saddle height which for Elves is a 54cm frame. For anyone looking to buy an Elves, down size. My I bought a 52cm (535mm toptube with a 110mm stem and 10mm spacer) and my correct saddle height has the seat post on its end range of being in the frame at the "10" marker. 10 being lowest - 1 being highest. The tup tube does sit higher than "normal" because of the intergrated stem.

I echo Jimmy's opinion about titanium bikes: They all look the same, like literally. Because there's no coloring. If I want metal, I use steel or aluminium. It's way cheaper and you can get an actual cool paintjob. Corrosion is not really a huge concern if a steel frame is coated internally and if you look after it once in a while. If weight is that much of an issue, I wouldn't really go metal in the first place. But even steel bikes can be brought close to the UCI weight limit. So for me, there's really no obvious argument for titanium. It's just expensive and seems to have an aura of exclusivity that some people seem to go for.
