Francis, my friend, thank you for compiling this chart. Excellent job. I remember a great many of the dance acts but I had completely forgotten just how much rock and heavy metal there was in the charts back in the early Nineties. If only those days would come again.

1991 isn't the best year, but there are some gems in this video. Got a young Davina McCall in the Kylie Minogue 'Word Is Out' video. Quite a fair bit of rock which is always a bonus 👍 Anyone asking about the rugby songs, it was the Rugby World Cup that year. Cheers for this Francis 👍 It's interesting how the 90s was making its mark. My absolute favourite is my favourite group Guns N Roses with their emotional ballad 'Don't Cry'. My favourite song of 1991 and beautiful written with a mini movie video. Love these guys and reminds me of my Dad playing their albums as I was growing up. Been listening to the song quite a lot lately due to a tragic event. ❤ Queen's 'Show Must Go On' should have been a bigger hit. Kind of appropriate considering Freddie died a month later. Another group that I absolutely love. They are my second choice. The rest of my faves are Scorpions with their rock ballad 'Wind of Change' appropriate for what was going on politically. Cher with her best era and songs (and she looked her most attractive then), Cathy Dennis, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Bryan Adams, the two Kylie entries, Erasure, Simply Red, Prince, REM, Skid Row, Ozzy Osbourne, Beverley Craven (I prefer this one to 'Promise Me'), Lisa Stansfield, Crowded House, M People, Genesis and Amy Grant.

Spectacular job Francis. Always good to hear obscure electronic music and also modern rock songs.

Was reminded of two concert stories from this video: Seeing Wonder Stuff in Atlanta and Miles Hunt asking us "why do Americans never jump to the music in harmony like Brits?" And seeing Neds Atomic Dustbin and they began the concert "This song is called Freebird. Now you don't have to ask us to play it."

One Way by the Levellers would get re-recorded in 1999 to promote a best of, and that version charted at No.33. Interesting to see this stuff that charted and missed the top 40 back then, especially Teenage Fanclub's "The Concept" off the brilliant Bandwagonesque album, as I'm typing this I'm just looking at my copy of their new album "Nothing Lasts Forever" which just came out yesterday.

The one thing I remember about that Belinda Carlisle song is it replaced Perfect by Fairground Attraction as the "anthem" over the tannoy at my local Asda 🤣🤦 both annoying songs. Apart from the very occasional song in this (which unfortunately and annoyingly for me includes Wind of Stupid Bloody Change!), I remember very little in this chart. Could put it down to the fact I was only six years old though probably, or that this was just a pretty poor year for music!

The ones I did like were Kenny Thomas, Lisa Stansfield, Beverly Craven, Mariah Carey, Queen, Paul Young and the one by Bryan Adams which is much better than the annoying Everything I Do!

How did that bloody song get to number two?! 🤬 Much better Scorpions songs than THAT!
