I think the more appropriate question is "Who hasn't seen Catch me if you can?

Who doesn't that's a "REAL" Leonardo DiCaprio or Frank Abagnale fan?

Elizabeth H Yeah it is a great film BUT it does not justice to the real story. It's way more unbelievable and intriguing than the movie.

Actually the pilot asked “what equipment are you on?” To which he replied “General Electric?” And when telling this story on TV, Carson said “what’d he think you were flying a washing machine?” See how the con-man changed the story to fit how he wanted things lol

@@thedukeofnuts I know what it’s like to think like this man. Carson’s version of the truth was better so it became reality.

This is amazing. His greatest con was pretending to be a con man. ...the whole ruse was only possible because of no internet

Only someone really dedicated could have found him out back then. His only crimes were petty theft and wearing a fake uniform.

After watching this video, plus reading several articles about him, I will have to watch the movie again just more closely. When I first watched it, I didn't realize it was based on a true story? "Maybe", I find it strange after almost 50 years people are starting to pop up and debunk his stories! We didn't have technology in the 70s like we have today. What information are they basing their new opinions on now? He seems very intelligent, and in some cases it appears he has a picture perfect memory. We'll see! JMO

The information is based on official public records have been found in the New York State archives. They show he was in prison from age 17-20, this is the time period in which he claims to have committed most of his scams. Prior to that he was briefly in the navy but dropped out . He mostly just lived an unsuccessful life as a petty thief and sexual deviant

His prison record , of being in jail all during Frank's teens .So he was not a fake pilot , doctor or lawyer .Also he did steal from the Parks family and stole cameras from a children's camp .

ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED THE MOVIE "CATCH ME IF YOU CAN".....I'VE SERVED FEDERAL PRISON TIME FOR VERY SIMILAR CHECK WRITING CRIMES!!! FRANK IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME HEROS....AS IS PATRICK MITCHELL I SERVED FED. TIME WITH HIM IN LEAVENWORTH *( BEST FRIENDS) THE MOVIE "POINT BREAK" WAS ABOUT PATRICK>*(HIS CHARACTER IN MOVIE WAS "BODY") UNFORTUNATELY PATRICK HAS PASSED AWAY....I'D LOVE TO MEET FRANK ONE DAY!!? SINCERELY & RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED HOWARD KELLY
