Today is one of the saddest days in rock and beyond. We lost a musician, a singer, one tough hombre, a legend and a hero. Thank you for all that you have given us all these decades. RIP Dusty Hill May 19, 1949 - Jul 28, 2021 We love you and you will be sorely missed.

Jimi Hendrix once stated, Music is the most powerful substance on the face of the earth. It makes people remember the past, look forward to the future, and can make people feel every emotion, If you ever wondered where Jimi Hendrix pink strat came from, It was a Gift from Bill Gibbons. Thanks for the upload. Peace..

RIP Dusty. I'm still sad over Dusty's passing ; Although Billy G's guitar playing was THE deciding factor in my taking up guitar,it was the bass playing of one Dusty Hill that led to my bass playing as well. I loved his sense of humor,as well as Frank and Billy's. Also I learned early from the guys thru their interviews of "not taking yourself too seriously" ( a problem these days with a number of bands). Dusty left us way too soon, this wasn't supposed to happen, not to the Top. My best wishes, thoughts and prayers to Dusty's wife,Billy and Frank ,and to fellow ZZ Top fans.Gone but Dusty you will never be forgotten. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

I'm so glad I grew up with this music and was able to appreciate it's power and grace even way back when I was a young kid. Both bands were go-to for me on the radio, record player, tape deck, CD player (and will still be on whatever new technology that''s comin' down the pike). Even their very old stuff sounds fresher and more vibrant than most new acts. RIP

I can't say enough about these musicians. Cream with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce were one of my favorites in the 60s. Then in the 70s to 2020s ZZ TOP's Dusty Hill, Frank Beard, and Billy Gibbons, another great band🔥

I have life long friends who recorded at Criteria Studios in North Miami Beach when we were fresh out of High School and one night they introduced me to the Recording Engineer of Criteria Studios who asked me if I wanted an after hour tour of the Studio. We went over to Criteria and I when I got into the lobby there was Gold & Platinum Records on the wall from the Bee Gees, Neil Young, Aretha Franklin and Derick & the Dominos who recorded Layla and I knew that Sky Dog Allman work on Layla recording that song. I didn't know the record was recorded there and the Recording Engineer told me they still have the original equipment that they cut the LP on. I couldn't believe it and so he took me to a 4 ft. wide black curtain that covered an alcove and there sat the equipment that they cut the LP with. all of the equipment with the exception of the machine they used to cut the original record was home made out of particle board and spray painted with cans of spray paint. the transistor bulbs were huge and they looked like they came straight out of a Frankenstein movie. all the wiring and electrical you could tell was not factory made. I wish there were cell phones back in the day, it was a memory I will never forget

Those peeoople especially Ginger are working class Brits. There is magic in this, no university, no education except the one they got from their passion for music. It all started with Shakespeare who didn’t go to university and was revived first by the Beatles and then..... That is why Brit music was so good at one point .
