How to Ink in Franklin Booth style, Part 1 (Bonus video)

Here’s an old drawing of Mycroft Holmes (Sherlock Holmes older and smarter brother) that I did for a Sherlock Holmes society, BSI, few years back.
Like Bernie Wrightson, I was inspired and influenced by the great Franklin Booth when I started doing ink illustrations. Franklin Booth ink style mimics engravings and gives the illusion of light and shadow using thick and thin lines laid down in precise patterns.
This is a time consuming and maddening technique, but yields brilliant results when done properly.
