Gore becomes the first FBS running back with 300 rushing yards and a passing touchdown in a game since Darren McFadden in 2007 for Arkansas against South Carolina and sets the record for most rushing yards in Bowl Game history.

Helped by some bad tackling. Player #3 on Rice out of position, giving up a 40 yard run. On the last run, #2 should have tackled Gore a 20 yard gain but completely whiffed... turned into a long TD

Rice's defense is awful. Any running back could have run through those holes. Frank Gore Jr. is not very good. Why didn't Miami, FSU, or Florida recruit him? He's a nobody.

He is a little shorter than Sr, but does kinda have that same stocky build. He has been phenomenal for us at USM. Last year when all of our QBs got hurt, we literally ran him as a quasi-QB. That’s why he has 8 career TD passes lol. He does it all

What an insanely Studley family. When you Frank Gore was in college I heard multiple people tell me he was the best natural running back they ever saw. In running back years, his career would be the equivalent if Brady played 30 years of quarterback.

I once read a scouting report that said, "Gore lacks the physical and emotional toughness to play in the NFL". Lol. Literally one of the toughest players to ever play in both respects.

Absolutely. The craziest thing is he was a few steps faster before destroying both ACLs in college. Think of all his runs where he got caught after breaking away. Could’ve all been touchdowns if he still had his natural speed. One of my all time favorite players

I remember watching Frank Gore and Frank Gore Jr on a reality TV show but the passion he show for the game the way he looked at his father when he was teaching him I knew he was a real Football player. I happy he put it all together great performance. He is durable like his father. Definitely a chain mover will definitely play on Sundays. Two teams that were 6-6 were ineligible for having played two FCS teams this year (App State and Army). 7-5 is required for bowl eligibility in that case unless a waiver is granted (New Mexico State received one since they had to emergency schedule a game against a second FCS opponent after San Jose State canceled their game against them this year, and they ended up 6-6). Due to these two teams being ineligible, none with .500 records or better were left, so the 5-7 team with the best academic record was rewarded with the last bowl berth (which happened to be Rice). A REALLY weird year and chain of events.
