This man deserved more attention in the States as he had an exceptional voice. But the British Invasion of 1964 left him behind. I wish he was still here to see these videos finally become available online.

Great observation! Many talents here in the states were definitely squashed instantly by the British Invasion…Some for resurgence in later years …others gone for good.

Francis Edward Ifield OAM (30 November 1937 - 18 May 2024) was a British-born Australian country music singer and guitarist who often incorporated yodelling into his music.

Very talented and he was ready for the silence from the audience when he requested they sing along.

An incredible British talent who was a giant in the early 1960's in Britain but who did chart in America with "I Remember You". He was not only extremely talented but a good comedian as well.

I‘m not into yodelling, but he was a great singer and performer. He had three consecutive no. 1 hits in the UK (‘I Remember You’, ‘Lovesick Blues’, ‘The Wayward Wind’), and The (early) Beatles were his supporting act at a gig in Peterborough in autumn 1962, where they weren‘t performing very well.

Not really my bag, but I'll say this: most singers can only wish they had his breath control and intonation. And sense of humor!
