Wow! Churches need to invest in classically trained singers and pipe organists within their parishes, to provide truly quality, moving music, like this. If a church is located within driving distance of a local university, it is likely there are young vocal performance majors there who would be more than willing to sing during the mass, for nearly any amount of money, which allows for high quality music, without a high cost. There are many parishes who could easily afford to do this, for only $800 to $1,000 a month, if they sing every sunday. And a fine parish choir can readily be formed from a core of 4 principal there is a core of semi-professional singers (SATB, soprano alto tenor bass) with volunteer parrish members, to round out the rest. Church organists are quite affordable as well, and well worth the investment. Parishes which have done this already have begun to draw young families over time for something which is different and more profoubd than the standard guitar masses of so many parishes, today. A college piano / organ major would be more than willing to have a little extra income to play for Sunday mass as well, if you can't afford an already seasoned professional organist or choirmaster. Please encourage your priests and protestant pastors to do this. We desperately need more beauty in our churches. I converted to Catholicism after many years of not attending church at all, because as an evangelical, I found the "rock concert and a sermon" approach to be so loud and empty, and not what I was seeking at all. Maybe that appeals to some, but it was a major turn off to me.... but I found beauty and reverence in a traditionalist Catholic parish. Sadly, many of the other post Vatican II or modernist parishes remind me all too much of what I had hoped to leave behind, from the evangelical's worship. And pease don't get me wrong. There are wonderful Christian people who are deeply sincere followers of our Lord, both in Catholic parishes of all types, and protestant and evangelical churches, as well. In fact, I know personally of one very good priest whose mass uses contemporary music . So the dedication and sincercity are not at all at issue, here. But having said that, I truly think we've truly lost something very deeply moving and important, by leaving so many traditions of the Church behind, including Sacred Music. If we continue to advocate for it and renew its use, the church will grow - and I have already seen this myself in growing Traditionalist parishes, with many young families and children... because people are seeking and yearning for that depth and reverence, more and more. If we cannot use the Tridintine Latin Mass anymore (at least under this pope), we can at leasy very much promote and encourage the use of Latin and Sacred Music, in the Norus Ordo. But if we do not lovingly advocate for it, it will not happen on its own.

I'm an Anglo-Catholic within the Anglican Church. Performances like this are very much the norm where I'm from. I truly feel for my Roman brethren. Pax et bonum.

Lovely as a performance, but would not be appropriate for a Mass, in which the congregation should be able, and invited, to sing.

@@magistramccarty1 Well, they can take turns. Sometimes the congregation responds and sings; other times the choir sings....

Mary cannot save you. The Holy Bible is clear that our only Intercessor is the Lord Jesus Christ. “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” - 1 Timothy 2:5 When Mary spoke in Luke 1:46-47 she said “And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” Mary was just like us. She was a sinner in need of a Saviour. That Saviour is the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. That includes Mary, and that includes you and me. (Also see Luke 2:22-24 where Mary made a sin offering). Read the account in Luke 11:27-28. The Lord Jesus Christ does not want Mary being given any special status. “And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” - Luke 11:27-28 Christians can know that they have eternal life and salvation through Jesus Christ. It is the Lord Jesus Christ and faith in his shed blood alone that forgives your sins and saves you from eternal Hell. Repent and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone today! “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” - 1 John 5:12-13 “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” - Romans 3:24-28
