This home showcases the best of what Usonian was all about. It has nice open flow that also hugs you, making the most out of relatively small space. PURE MAGIC.

Well done!! Every couple of months I decide to build an FLLW style house and after a few weeks the realization that I will probably never do it makes the dream fade. Then you come along and do another great 3d render and visualization and my mind goes crazy again!! Well done!!

I like this one, overall. It would look even better with birch trees in the yard to line up with the white exterior. While I wouldn't have minded seeing the bathroom and guest room, this is outstanding.

Todays architects and builders need to bring back large roof overhangs. They add beauty and protection for doors, windows and siding from the sun, rain and wind.

The wood graining on chairs i know isn't something you could easily fix, but the fire brick inside living room fireplace would more likely be solid concrete blocks and naturally blackened by soot from fires, but thats getting really nitpicky.
@larryheiny52875 ай бұрын
Nicely done. Thank you. Did you find something in the drawings that said the CMU would be painted? That would be very unusual. Normally it would be left natural similar to the David Wright house (and many others). Sometimes as the house would get older the block would be painted to reduce the water penetration.... Also suggest looking at the wood texture you are using. The wood was mahogany or luan with a tight grain and lighter in color than the rendering. Otherwise, very well done. Thank you again for continuing to do these. They are appreciated.

One last comment: "Wright was not one to credit inspiration lightly, yet spoke often of the impact Beethoven, Bach, Brahms and other musical greats had on him and his work. In one conversation about the Coonley house, he stated, “Articulate buildings of this type have their parallel in the music of Bach particularly, but in any of the true form-masters in music.” "

Yes.... I'm sure it's on the drawings. F.Y.I., you don't seem to be too observant nor knowledgeable about Wrights work, nor an expert, which I am. Just because you are familiar with L.A. block homes, Tracy home in Wash. or a few others maybe, you need to learn his entire Canon of work. Southeast quarter of U.S. IS loaded with white painted concrete block F.L.L.W. homes. Bachman- Wilson; Winn; J. Willis Hughes House (Fountainhead house), Jackson, MS; Gordon house; Davis home 'Woodside'... and others which exist and not off top of my head.

@@dominique62dw I'm sorry, you are correct I am not an expert on the work of Mr Wright. I leave the expertise to people like you, Neil Levine, the FLLW Foundation and many others. I just wanted to share some of my knowledge and hopefully useful comments to the excellent work being done by Avila Arquitectos. I look forward to watching their creations. And yes, I am more familiar with Mr Wright's work in the southwest than in the southeast. But I have done the constructions drawings for 7-8 of Mr Wright's designs, mostly houses but also hotels and a few other commercial buildings. Some built. Some remain unbuilt. I've looked at hundreds (thousands) of drawings and specifications that the apprentices created that were stored in the archives, and had years worth of conversations with the people that did them and supervised their construction - from the First Apprentice to the last Apprentice. I hope my comments are always taken as being constructive and helpful and not as criticism of the effort.

😂 The fake smoke reminded me of fake fire and smoke you would see in a 90’s video game. And did you see a bathroom or am I to stoned to notice it? 😂

If you show an unbuilt Frank Lloyd Wright designed home from 1958 why do you have a brand new 2024 Porsche car parked in front of the house It totally screws up the dynamics of the house you should pick a luxury car from 1958 You lose all credibility by doing this It shows your disdain for history
@kevindreese51735 ай бұрын
It is a modern Porsche but in all fairness it’s a 1980’s vintage not a “brand new 2024”. Also seeing the thumbnail with the Porsche brought me in to watch it. I thought it was a renovated FLW house that someone bought.
@dominique62dw5 ай бұрын
As an Architect of over 25 yrs practice, an Historical Preservationist & a published Frank Lloyd Wright specialist on his body of work known & unknown, I can tell you that maybe you are a bit too idealistic in your thoughts. Another way of looking at it is thus: A nice 80s Porsche in great condition sitting outside a 1958 FLLW in flawless condition showing not only how it wears over time, but is resilient to current modern living without any changes whatsoever to the floorplan, or furnishing arrangement also showing the same repose feeling of being in the current setting as it would feel being in it in 1958. NOW THAT IS SOMETHING TO MARVEL AT AS IMPRESSIVE, AND NOT SOMETHING MANY OTHERS COULD SAY FOR ARCHITECT DESIGNED HOMES FROM 1958 WHICH SADLY HAVE ELEMENTS THAT "DATE THEM" TO 1950's vs. LOOKING STILL FRESH as a design & looking newly built robust now & breathtaking yet even more so of a "WOW" factor for 1958!
@dominique62dw5 ай бұрын
To be honest the home would appear completely new and modern with an old vintage 58 car in great shape.....and not give the effect you are trying to achieve.....only if the video was in black and white vs. Color & even then I don't think the level of home design would appear as if done in '58. It's a timeless design with no elements visible that "date" it. If it had anything other than geometric shapes which are dateless, then it would as you suggest look like an old 58 home which people would ask why hasn't the home been changed in any way by the several home owners who had it....
@docderwood5 ай бұрын
@@kevindreese5173 That's not a 2024 Porsche. It's roughly an 85 to 87 Porsche. 911's haven't changed it's iconic design since about 1964 so it's not too far off.
