Thank you very much for your excellent digital recreations of Mr. Wright's work. It is wonderful that these unrealized works of art get a chance to live in the digital realm.

Nicely done! Interesting design feature regarding the staggered french doors. I'm not sure if I've seen that on any built Wright buildings.

The huge cantilevered carport roof is a large expense that isn't needed. Support columns would look good if designed well and they'd reduce the cost significantly. I have never liked having a bedroom door in the foyer. I would put it where the fireplace is, and locate the fireplace in the small corner that's between the terrace doors and the back door. Moving the fireplace to that location allows the fire to be viewed from every location in the living, dining, and kitchen, area. Other than those relatively small changes, this is another fine looking Wright house.

@@sharksport01 What do you mean? That term is used to refer to someone who is envious. I am not envious, I admire Wright's work. I said that this is another fine looking Wright house. Second, Wright's fame is global and solid. No comments by me, or anyone else is going to damage it. But I can tell you from being around house design for decades that this particular design has some issues that nearly every potential client would complain about. The biggest one is the carport. If you knew how much extra money the cantilevered carport would cost to build than one with columns, you would opt for the columns yourself. Also, most people don't want their bedroom door in the foyer. But Wright's version isn't really terrible, the door is around a corner after all. His version, and mine, would probably get half and half on client preference. As for moving the fireplace, if both plans were presented to clients, along with interior elevations of both, so clients could see how the fireplace was visible in both schemes, most people would choose the fireplace to be where I suggest.

Looking at the plan I don't see how the carport cantilver can function in practice. There is not enough bearing into the house to support the span. Deflection and sagging would be inevitable over the long term. There is also a risk that strong winds will cause uplift resulting in structural failure.

Is there an explanation why Wright would cantilever walkout spaces for some houses and use retaining walls for others? I am guessing cost was one factor. Of course W was brilliant, but it is still useful to debate his choices. W refused to be a slave to budget or practicality which in itself raises interesting questions.😊

I agree the carport cantilever looks super expensive. It is also hard for me to understand how it could be relied on to not sag. Plenty of sagging occured at Fallingwater, so....... Is it gorgeous? Absolutely.😊
