I am saddened to hear Frank Marino is ill and audiences will not be able to see him in future concerts . As , a long time fan since the 1970's I only hope that one of the most underrated really great guitar players will be heard again by his fans . It would be great to hear Frank Marino sing and play guitar on one more album or CD with new songs . Gregg Allman produced a studio album three years ago that was an example of his best work in 30 years . May , God Bless you and I feel fortunate to have seen you in concert . You are by far the best guitar player I have ever seen in person - Finish Line was one of your best songs and that album cover was fantastic . Frank you are indeed special !! Best Wishes . From Andy in Florida .

All good things come to an end my friend sad to say. I've seen Frank live 3 times, late 70's through to 2007 and he remains in my top five favourite players in almost 50 years of appreciating great players. The others are for me, Jimi, Gilmour, Knopfler and, maybe surprisingly, Wilko Johnson.

He was his own worst enemy, there are a lot of things that did not help his career. The music he was writing in the 70s wasn’t exactly gonna get him radio play, what little commercial success he had was johnny b goode and two hendrix covers. Also the spirit of jimi hendrix story didnt help, and to make matters worst he doesn’t exactly try to downplay that with the hendrix covers. Its admirable that frank has pretty much just done what he wanted and how he wanted to, personally i dont care for his 70s output, but the guy is a great player.

Fans often overexaggerate or underestimate, but when it needed precision and skill and emotion, Frank was the guy to have playing the songs as much as anybody. Good singer and fantastic guitarist (although mostly jazz-based) when he decided to let loose he could do Hendrix as good as the master himself.

Frank is incredible and was my main inspiration to play guitar way back in 1973 when I was 11 This is the BEST version of all along the watch tower too! All his old albums should impress ANY guitar player, If not I'd have to question your skill. He is sooo under rated. Such a shame.

Right on! Love Jimi too of course! Jimi was surely a main inspiration too Frank. Wish Jimi was still here, Who knows what Rock would sound like now if he was. He's gone though, And that suck's, But I'm glad there are still great's like Frank still alive. I've seen him several times from the late 70's right up to the last time which was 2013. That time was in a small venue in NJ, I was no more than 6 ft from him this place was kinda small and I got there early, He was so cool, Played 4 sets with about 8-10 minute breaks between. Each time he came out and drank a beer with those of us close, Talked with everyone like he was just another guy in the bar! haha! Oh yeah, He NAILED everything, And played nothing but the older FMMR from albums like MR4/Power of Rock n Roll/World Anthem and even a few from Strange Universe! Most of the times I've seen Frank from the late 90's on, It has been small Venuses or clubs and Every time he has mingled with his fans throughout the show. I just turned 55 and I have to say, Thank's Frank for a LIFETIME of great rock and memories!

He had no songwriting talent and wasn’t exactly a marketable artist for a record company, record execs cant really do anything with your music if every song you write stemmed from a jam and turned into some big guitar laden epic thats why he was doing covers and why he was known for his covers in the 70s. All that spirit of hendrix shit that was attached to his name didnt help and neither did the fact that frank wore that influence on his sleeve

This is the first time I've had the chance to see and hear them. I think he was in a car accident and picked up the guitar because he was bored and depressed during the long healing period. Somehow the LSD story circulated and they just let it spread rather than correcting it with the boring truth.
