I bought one of those lower cost versions of Spam at Coles last Thursday. I got the same brand of corned beef too. When the Japanese Americans were interned after the attack on Pearl harbour, they didn't have all their usual cooking ingredients. But they had plenty of Spam, and came up with all sorts of inventive ways to cook dishes using Spam.
