I won’t lie hearing how Clark and Lana met and grow close in this version I got SUPER invested in it and the little zoom in to see her note while he’s in the navy? UGH 😩💙 that’s so nice! Then they bring in Lori and do every party involved dirty 😡! I wanna see that relationship further and how it affects the SuperFam going forward. Even as a diehard Superman fan who’s always loved Lois as his wife, even mostly ok with 52’s Wonder Woman relationship too, but goddammit you wanna give me an Elseworld? Maybe even shake up whatever current continuity is prevalent for however many years? Gimme THAT little tweak in your premise and I’ll read the fuck out of it.
@tjjordan4207 Жыл бұрын
Lana is pretty much Superman’s Gwen Stacy. There is literally no Elseworld story where Clark and her end up together. At least Marvel did House of M that was short lived. Granted, I’m happy that Lana doesn’t die for the sole purpose of furthering a main character’s story, but in terms of the first romance tragedy, Lana is the DC’s Gwen Stacy. And I find it interesting that no one has pulled the trigger on the idea of making her the endgame instead of Lois. Even in this story alone, Lois doesn’t have a relationship with Clark, which makes me wonder why Lana wasn’t in this more. It would have been better to see their relationship continue all the way to the end. I want to know what happened to his relationship with Lana. And I hate that Frank never touches on how it ended in this version he wrote. Did she break up with him? Or did he break things off? Or are we literally to believe that they just never spoke, wrote, or saw each other again after he left Smallville?
@MoostacheProductions Жыл бұрын
@@tjjordan4207 ☝🏻 you get it. In a universe where Lois clearly isn’t the endgame, what’s so bad about sticking with Lana? Frank Miller as you said, doesn’t even clarify what happened with them. Just left it hanging and for what? To show his Clark Kent can sleep with any woman he wants because “he’s a god”…? Piss off. Why give a story about Superman to a writer who really gives less than .00000001 of a shit about him….? Then again we could apply that to anyone in his universe that isn’t Batman. Par for the course I guess.
@tjjordan4207 Жыл бұрын
@@MoostacheProductions The thing about Clark is that he's not a Chad, despite having the body of one. He doesn't sleep with just any woman because he was raised about as traditional as one could be in America. That's something I can see Bruce doing since he doesn't allow for a relationship to get anywhere close to being serious. And even if Miller wanted to stick more towards the status quo, why not focus more on Clark and Lana's relationship and give us a proper conclusion to it. Maybe we see them continue their relationship after his time in the military and they move to Metropolis to pursue their careers. Over time, Lana becomes homesick and wishes to return to Smallville, but Clark wants to stay in Metropolis to continue being Superman. Realizing that they want different things in life now, the two break up on good terms and she returns to Smallville. A sad conclusion but one that has closure and gives us something. My conclusion would be that they just stay together and the comic ends with him proposing to her.

Love the point in the discussion being made of Clark needing to make more mistakes, and how it relates to DCEU where we can see Clark actually making mistakes, but not seeing him really grow from them and learn to be Superman so much as he shows up in BOTH versions of JL and just,, IS Superman instead because movie even though we do see more of Henry getting to think and be himself as Clark before he shows up a bit in ZSJL
