Jon Jones’ greatness is undeniable, and Frank Mir’s anecdotes only solidify why he’s one of the most cerebral fighters in MMA history. Jones’ ability to break down opponents with precision is second to none. As Mir pointed out, Jones sees patterns and tendencies others might miss, giving him an almost unfair advantage in preparation. His fight IQ is so advanced that he deliberately avoids commentary to keep his insights hidden-what a testament to the depth of his understanding.

Jones' fight IQ is beyond. Bro look at his entire family, he's a natural warrior and possesses the one quality/ability that most long-time Champions don't. The ability to evolve instead of simply relying on the tried & true playbook, and natural ability. Deliberately and constantly evolving, because opponents will always be looking for your signature move-set after hours of studying your tapes. He'll find a way to win no matter what the rules are. Only Jones will beat Jones.

As much as I'm not a true "fan" of Jones, I'm an MMA fan and no one can deny how great Jones is. I think he takes Aspinall. Over the course of Jones' career, he has made really really good fighters look ordinary.

It's too bad he can't just rely on his true greatness since he fights dirty, fights old guys, and already has a reach advantage. Shouldn't be duckin anyone either. Undefeated record doesn't necessarily mean "greatest".

Jon Jones doesn't commentate because he doesn't want others to know how he thinks and know his mind. Now that is fight IQ, because I always wonder when some fighters or other sports athletes give away information like that before they retire. Do so after you retire.

Between the lines this could be taken to explain why Jon doesn’t want to fit a spinal yet… the guy doesn’t have enough fight footage to properly analyse
@orinorio1Ай бұрын
He dose though. Tom has done the same in all his fights. He starts of with throwing calf kicks , throws the odd Jap when his opponent comes forward he throws a jab followed by his right. Tom is a big guy he ant doing a spin kick or head kick. Jones also works out a fighter in the cage too. That's the best way for any fighter to read his opponent. Other way round Tom has hours and hours of footage to watch Jones. Witch will get Tom thinking more and looking at more.
