As a kid in the 1970s I built a Monogram 1/32 model of Tom Daniels’ Tarantula with crazy spider leg headers, looked very similar to this. Anyone recall it ?

That's regular race gas, it helps flush the nitro out of the blower and cylinders, you never want to let it sit as the Nitro/methanol mix is corrosive, it's also why after every fire up/run you change the oil because the Nitro contaminates and dilutes the oil, if it's going to sit for any length of time we also fire it up for a second on race gas, then empty the fuel tank and flush all the fuel lines, put fresh oil in it, spin it over to with the plugs out to get oil pressure, and it's ready to go again

I built a model of this car back in the 70’s , think I was about 12. If not this car one that looked exactly like it. I painted it a middle green, don’t remember if that was the cars actual colour then.

the engine sits nose heavy to keep the front end lifting wow
@garyallen88692 жыл бұрын
The angle of the motor has nothing to to with keeping the front end down without weight in the nose it will carry the front end the entire quarter mile an not handle The motor, coupler and rear end are all solid mounted in the frame there is no u joint, the rear end position dictates the motor angle

Show car not a race car.
@garyallen88692 жыл бұрын
Wrong, although it it primarily a cackle car, it has current certs to 6.0 and will do some passes at nostalgia events this year All that is necessary is to put the coupler in and put the other slicks on, Tony Pedregon made a pass in it when Pat Foster first finished it, the Scott injection wasn't sorted out yet, which it now is, so again no it is not "a show car"
