There’s some truth in what he said about never having felt so alive while being nuts and letting go of your grip. I’ve been there once, was on drugs and being utterly insane and for a while, I felt so free and almost elated when I just let go of trying to get my shit together. It all fell apart of course and thankfully I’m clean for many years now.
