No one did it like Frank. Not even close. Simply incomparable.

I am a huge fan and no one sang that song live better than Frank. But stings recorded version is the best I have heard. There I said it, pardon me while I disappear

So this must have been after the album was released and they copied the album cover into the set design. Or perhaps it was the other way around?

Let's not forget the composer Matt Dennis and lyricist Earl Brent. Both genius in their own right.

Dean's my guy, smoother, more distinct, then i like Sammy..but here, Frank with this song is my No1 with the Rat Pack. Song Noir... We all should give Ava a little credit for that.

+Yaya Great passion can be a wonderfully uplifting and sometimes a terribly painful thing. Frank knew and could communicate that inside and out.

Patricia Walton unfortunately for Ava it eventually caught up and bit her in the name of George C. Scott, cause they say he used to beat her, I dont' remember if Frank got involved however I did read where Frank paid for her funeral :( unrequited love is a B*tch ;0

Just heard Ella's version and one comment was by a guy who couldn't decide if Sinatra did Angel Eyes better. The answer is, 'He did it better." The reason is the theatre he put into it. He's acting his way through the song, Ella's only singing.

Gary Schlueter Spot on. Try to find his version of "The Man With The Golden Arm" which captures Frank at the very height of his story telling powers. Recorded in 1955 with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, it was the first song by a popular vocalist to tackle heroin addiction but his record company were too scared to release it.

Heard this on WBUR 90.9 Boston today and was reminded how much I love this song. It was sung by Sting in the movie 'Leaving Las Vegas' so now I have 2 recordings that will always get to my heart. There is something about Frank Sinatra that no one else has and I forgot that he was a smoker, so this video is even more powerful with the execution of the last line fading out....'excuse me while I disappear'....

+Roberta Chadis When Frank was given the song, he thought it would sound better if it started with the refrain. And the rest is history.

i may be wrong but i think this was one of the performances that forced him to retire . his voice and lungs were really challenged. then move up to madison square garden and see the transition. whatever happened to him was miraculous.
