When Sinatra suddenly strolls onto the floor and sings live ( accompanied only by a piano)a song unknown to me up till that moment he shuts out everything including Dean's off camera joke and slips effortlessly into character giving a performance fit for the Smithsonian. I could not stop smoking no matter how many times I tried. Then, one day, as I was walking out of my house, the commercial came on when I went to turn off the TV. I was stunned to see Yul Brynner as he had died just a few months prior from lung cancer. I stared at him and every word registered in my brain. I took the pack of cigarettes out of my purse and the unopened carton and threw them in the garbage. - and that was all it took for me to quit smoking when I could never stop before. Never even had a craving after that. Not once. I still can’t understand what happened there.

This Tonight Show with Frank, Dean and Joey is just hilarious. They don't make shows like this anymore. I'm sure we are still so happy that we have these to still watch. Thank you to Johnny Carson Productions for sharing this with us.........................Betsy Basile

What a fantastic clip. Frank's performance gave me chills. I can't imagine how wild it would have been hanging out with the Rat Pack back in the day. Amazing to be sure but my liver hurts just thinking about it.

I was just shy of 2 yrs. old when this aired. So much fun to see friends have fun with each other.
