These roasts are pure gold..Every single person there on every roast was able to lovingly tease the roastee..And laugh at pot shots taken at themselves also..Those were the days huh??.. This would never be tolerated now..So Sad..

Without a doubt this was the best Dean Martin roast of all time. The group of performers gathered was perfect and much of the humor was spontaneous. We live in a world now where we have to read on tiptoes fearing some tender minded listener may be offended. What kind of society have we been reduced to ?

@@ericpedrosa5364 well, back then people had tougher skin and they were not offended as easily as today. If you have watched all of the roasts you’d have noticed that the banter was back and forth, not just toward black people, but also White, Hispanics, Asians etc. nobody was spared or offended. It was sense of humor. Nowadays, even being polite is offensive to some. Back then these shows made everyone laugh. Today people use these to divide others. Today, it’s a shame that humor, past and present, is used to separate us more…

He told Johnny Winters what he was going to do that was all the preparation Winters got then Johnny would hand him something as obscure as a feather where by Johnny Winters could keep the audience laughing away both Carson an Winters could tell when the bit was starting to run cold even before the audience knew that’s how great their timing was from years of telling jokes to audiences of every type of person in the world that visited just to be a part of his audience Whe

The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts were the best, and this roast of Frank Sinatra might have been the best of them all. Here we are still watching, decades later, after every one of those gifted entertainers is gone. It’s 2024 as I write this, an interesting and exciting time to be alive in many ways. I strive to live in the present and look to the future, but when I feel like watching something on TV I usually go to KZbin and find a show like this, or Johnny Carson, or Columbo. I find it so enjoyable, and it takes me back in time to the world I grew up in, and probably most who are watching this did as well. I’m thankful to be alive today, but to me those will always be the good old days… 😊

This celebrity roast was a master class for expiring comedians. Most of today's comedians need to watch this and similar roastmasters to know that they do not have to make obscene gesters and spew vulgarity in order to get a laugh. All is needed for gut-busting laughter is a combination of comedic talent, quick wit, perfect timing, and a certain level of class. And surely, the comedians in this celebrity roast - most certainly and unequivocally - possessed those natural-born qualities, all in combination.

Definitely a generous slice of that generation's best entertainers, who by 1978 appealed predominantly to adults over 40. They were already becoming relics in the eyes of the younger generation, and soon to be more so, once the 80s arrived.

Received in my YT steam today..a year later. Today is political correctness, trigger warnings and cancel culture stifling jokes. Everyone is offended by everything, not much laughter and a whole lot of whinning. If we could turn back time I would for the generation of today, they are lost and confused no one seems to be of a working moral compass to guide their way. As depressing as my post sounds, it's even worse living amongst insane, entitled and disrespectful people who have no interest in becoming a contributing, America loving American citizen. The one good thing I can see is biblical prophecies unfolding rapidly and Jesus will return soon.
