The Martin Grams, jr. book lists only one other one ---a version with Ethel Barrymore. This is better, IMO. Howard in the other one is played by Gene Kelly, who I can't stand.

Gooqle Insider - 15 years ago I came accross Classic Radio shows listening to audio books. I became hooked. I would listen to Suspense episodes all night long, and eventually I heard em all. Then Escape, then many others. I'll pass on the best here on this channel.

The story this is based on was also used for the film "Beware, My Lovely" starring Ida Lupino and Robert Ryan (as Howard). It was very good also.

You're right! He starred with Ethel Barrymore. It's on my channel in a playlist with Dame May Whitty and Barrymore. The script was followed almost exactly. Janice Jenkins Did you ever think of Sinatra playing a "slow" guy? I think he did a good job in this story. (This was repeated with a different actor a couple of years later - but the original is usually the best) Thanks, as always.

Suspense & ESCAPE! Sinatra did a really good job. Agnes Moorehead was great as usual! The episode showed Sinatra’s range as an actor. But what a sad story!

I wondered whether Mrs. Gilles had contacted the man to take Howard away, but then how would she be able to? Anyway, one of the best. I don't think Sinatra could have done another episode. There was so much curiosity about his appearance on this episode. I remember only the Gene Kelly episode -I never cared for him.
