Frank came from that horrible age. You know, the age when the lyric was king. When singers sang to you personally. When every singer knew how to respect his audience. When men respected women. When women respected men. When singers sang live before their audience. When musicians played their own instruments. When music had melodies rather than just beats. When a singer could sing to the back of the room without a microphone and still be heard. You know, those horrible times before now. Frank, Sarah, Ella, Billie, Mr. Billy Eckstine. RIP to the real Kings and Queens of Music.

Nothing need be said about "Old Blue Eyes", simply a Classic. If i can ask you K.S.O., have you noticed the older entertainers, like Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Dean Martin, or Sammy Davis Jr. just to name a few, always wore tuxedos for their concerts? They understood the people buying their tickets were spending their money to see them, and they were dressing respectfully to perform for them. You don't see that in ANY genre of music today.

Growing up in Philly, there were many great memories of the chairman of the board and this was a staple on (forget the radio station that had it ) Friday’s with Frank and Sundays with Sinatra , but can’t help but the thought of it being played as we all walked out of a dear friends funeral mass after 9/11.

Paul Anka was having a rebound in his career and had wrote several hit songs for himself and others. He said Frank came to him and said "Paul you are writing everyone else hit songs and I want you to write one for me. Paul said that at a concert I was at that and when Frank told you something you had better do it so he put his heart and soul into this song for Frank.

I went on a tourist cruise around manhattan once, and the tour guide was exactly like Bruno Kirby's limo driver in This Is Spinal Tap. EVERYTHING was about Frank. "See that building? That's where Frank lives." "That building? Frank owns that." "That's where Frank was born"...he went on like that for about 3 hours.

Someone mentioned Sammy Davis Jnr, he did a concert here in Brisbane Australia, back in the 70's he was supposed to be on stage for 2 hours and he performed, non stop for 3.5 hours. He along with Frank and that bunch, were real professionals at their craft. Frank could really deliver a song, proven here

I actually do paint to this song...so I love your analogy! I love Frank Sinatra! I never got to see him! He played at Radio City in NYC in the 80s but I was a poor college student. Paul Anka wrote this song and I love him also because he still does big band sound. He also wrote a song for Sammy Davis Jr that is just as inspiring and moving. I never heard of it until I went to his concert. It is called "I am not anyone." Look up the version with both Paul Anka live and Sammy Davis Jr singing! Wow! You will love it!

Originally, a French song "Comme d'habitude" by Claude François. If the Anglo-Saxon version tells a balance sheet of a life, the French version tells a dying love story. And it was the real story of the singer with France Gall, a french female singer. Much more poignant.

This was written by Paul Anka who said he couldn't "sing" because he felt that he did't live the way that Frank Sinatra did. He did so much especially helping Sammy Davis Jr., get his foot in the door when he was starting out. It is next to "Yesterday" by The Beatles the most covered song in music history. Over 5000 interpretations have been done. Sadly it was the very last song Elvis Presley sang in Concert six weeks before he died in 1977. He had such an amazing life. His Daughter Nancy had the Hit "These Boots Are Made For Walking" his Son Frank Jr., also sang and he also appeared on The Sopranos.
