Ol' Blue Eyes, the Chairman of the Board, The Sultan of Swoon, or simply "The Voice." However you know him, Frank Sinatra is an American legend of jazz and big band. He was also a pretty robust collector of firearms.
He was presented many by friends, business associates, and even performance venues. Today we take a look at one with a golden inscription to Frank Sinatra, his Smith & Wesson Model 19-4 .357 Magnum revolver.

Beautiful firearm. The pinned and recessed S&W's are my favorite. Classic , timeless style.

I bought my 19-4, 2 1/2 inch bbl sometime back in 1980. Of all the handguns I own, it is still my favorite. These days it sleeps in the nightstand next to the bed and it could be the last thing somebody who breaks into my home in the middle of the night might see.

I bought a SMITH & WESSON MODEL 19-4 years ago. It has a partridge front sight. With all the handguns I own it's the most ACCURATE one to this day I've shot thousands of round threw it and has never failed.

Very interesting video. I'm curious if Steve McQueen had any weapons come up for auction. I've read that he started carrying a gun after the Sharon Tate murder in 69, by Charles Manson gang.

Awesome gun, and to me is one amazing revolver, because I collect S&W revolvers. Next time you guys have the model 16-4 whit 4" and 6" barrel do a video pls. I own one 16-4 whit a 4" barrel and I was amazed when in December 2021 I see you guys selling this gun "various" for prices between 2.500$ to 5.000+$!!! I now is a rare revolver because in my country is really hard to find and only the combat grips I can buy another gun, but the most I see asking for this revolver in my country was 2.750€/$ almost the same. But more than 5.000$ dham !!! I was just curious about what are the criteria for this price, I never going to sell any of my guns "to much money and time invested to get this collection" and this is my legacy for my son, he loves guns like me.💯👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I bought a 19-4, 6 inch, nearly new from Cabela’s for $400 around 2012. The clerk tried to not sell it stating the price had been accidentally marked too, low. LOL.

Speaking of blue eyes and large wheel guns, Frank was slated to play a Harry in the first Dirty Harry movie, but injured his hand. Enter Eastwood, who managed to have the script re written for him.

Sinatra also owned a Walther PPK that's chambered in .32 auto, I believe. Given his ties to organized crime, I'm not surprised that Sinatra would "pack heat" wherever he went.

What an interesting video, and storied revolver. I’m not much into handguns-only because my spinal cord injury has rendered my hands paralyzed. I’m interested in almost all firearms and this one is most interesting. Frank carried a gun onstage? I’ve read some strange stories about Frank wearing custom-tailored pants-perhaps in which he carried his gun? I wonder if Elvis carried a gun while he was performing? Or was he ready to use his martial arts skills in the event that a crazed fan was to get onto the stage? Did Frank ever shoot a television? Who else in the "Rat Pack" was a firearms enthusiast? These questions & more are what I have after watching this video. I need ANSWERS!!

Elvis kept a derringer in his boot while performing on LV stage according to his body guards. Revealed after his death. Apparently he said he didn't want some lunatic trying to gain fame as the person who killed him.

What does the -4 referring to?
@scottcooksey5284
@scottcooksey5284 2 жыл бұрын
Small changes in the production of that particular model S&W. IE ,if S&W changed a vendor where they were sourcing a screw or some other part, then they would add another digit. As far as I know they only went up to -10. So S&W's range was from what is called a model 19no-dash, up to the 19-10. The model 19 had several different iterations of the rear sight assembly. They did that with other models as well. - Or something about like that...

It was Henry Fonda who turned it down for being too violent. So did Charles Bronson initially. Sinatra liked the script but couldn't play Callahan as he had a hand injury. How do I know all this? I worked for Michael Winner and discussed it with him. Winner had to talk Charlie into doing the movie.

@@wildbillhardingThat's actually even more interesting. Henry Fonda as Paul Kersey?! As much as I like Bronson, I thought he was too much the tough guy to play someone who "turns" vigilante. Mild-mannered, liberal Fonda turning violent would have made a more shocking character arc.

Frank Sinatra had an excellent voice, but he was not talented as an actor, in my opinion By the way, it is well known that Sinatra had strong ties to Cosa Nostra Cilnt Eastwood's 44 Magnum in the Dirty Harry movies is worth a lot more in my opinion, the sale of S&W Model 69s in gun stores hit a record high after the release of Dirty Harry series
