@@carlajacobs2464 There's nothing wrong with adding somethin' new or different to a cover - it adds its own flare that sets it apart from the original. Can Frank Sinatra top or replicate George Harrison's original arrangment and the Beatle's vocal harmonies? Of course not, but Sinatra still gave it a go, and I think it's quite endearing that he adds, "Jack", as it fits his style. Also, he seems quite older here so I don't think his voice would be able to give the EXACT soul and oomph he'd probably would've, if he was younger.

Some people might find a little odd your statement but get it perfectly. Sinatra wasn’t just a singer. His technicality in the recorded voice is a standard for a lot of today’s singers. Perhaps he didn’t have 4 octaves of range like Freddie Mercury, or the theatricality of Elvis, but he was a voice virtuoso, from the breath control to the resonance of his timber. He didn’t just grabbed a random mic and started singing. He revolutionized the recorded voice methods, searching always for the best sound fidelity, investing in the best recording studios to reproduce his voice on vinyl, and always with the best instrumental arrangers.

I find it funny at the beginning when Frank’s introducing the track and drops George Harrison’s name, you can only hear a handful of claps. I imagine most people in that hall in their heads saying, “We made a night out of seeing the Chairman of the Board, Ol’ Blue Eyes. Why is he playing this hippy shit?” And after the song’s over the entire place erupts into applause, because of course good music crosses cultural boundaries, something Frank obviously knew very well. I hope they learned that from Frank that night.
