frank turner has been slowly teaching me how to be a well-rounded kind person and for that i am thankful.

You got a point here, that I have never thought about. What you have said, is true! :) Many songs just encourage our soul and character to envolve kindness in our heart. Lovely idea and sometimes a real feeling. :)

2015: "Hey Frank, we need a video for The Next Storm. How about you boxing against a really big, scary guy?" "I... I can't really box..." "Yeah perfect!" 2016: "Hey Frank, we need a video for Love Forty Down. How about, like, you playing tennis against Jason Isbell?" "I... I can't really play tennis..." "Yeah perfect!" 2018: "Hey Frank, we need a video for Little Changes. How about you doing a complicated dance coreography with professional dancers?" "I... I can't really dance..." "Yeah perfect! " Do I sense a pattern here? ;)

"Little Changes" Waking up too early in the city feeling disconnected The underground and my understanding have delays on the line The weather and the way we worked out weren't quite as expected I've been melting in the summer heat going out of my mind So far from okay, tongue-tied and afraid The big things stay the same and you just say Little changes Little changes Giving up too easy when we could've tried a little bit harder Standing to the side as the neighbourhood went to the dogs We spend our energy getting angry instead of being kinder Singing hymns of praise in a city given up on by the gods So far from okay, tongue-tied and afraid The big things stay the same until we make Little changes Little changes Little changes 'Cause I've been messing things up And I've been letting you down I've been getting it wrong for far too long I've been lost more than found And I don't know where to stop But something's gotta break Don't pull out the part, keep it close to your heart I'll do whatever it takes So far from okay, tongue-tied and afraid The big things stay the same, let us make Little changes Little changes Come on let's make some little changes It's time to make some little changes Let's not just pray Let's make a change Let's not just pray Let's make a change Come on let's make some little changes It's time to make some little changes

I really can't understand the dislike this album is getting. It's clear he's having a good time doing what he loves. The corny songs are awesome in my opinion, lyrics are still some of my favorite. Let the man have fun with what he's doing.
@JonnyBriers6 жыл бұрын
Matthew Lemmers this is such a weird attitude to have. Just because he's having fun doesn't mean I have to enjoy the songs. I think the album is fine but people can hate it if they hate it.

For me, it's the corporate type sound smothered in virtue signaling. He did Love and Ire, so I know he can do better than this...
@enron23536 жыл бұрын
virtue signaling is like 100% of his music. Its just that this album sounds a bit more like the indie pop of the last 5 years and that's ok with me so long as its good and this is. Can't expect an artist to keep making the same music for the same audience over and over. Good way to become irrelevant fast.
@oneminutewonder776 жыл бұрын
Dr OPM People are entitled to their opinion, personally I would rather an artist have fun with the music they're making rather than making the same album over and over again. Half this guys music is already just what you've said, this really isn't that much different.
@unearnedreservations6 жыл бұрын
It’s not really ‘virtue signalling’, just the empty soppiness of the ‘be kind’ message, and the quite bland sound. All a bit nothing to me. Like Ricky Gervais doing Derek - same principle.

musicians, and people for that matter, are entitled to experiment and evolve. Those who are true FT fans will appreciate what he's doing. he's an artist and a poet , why should he re-produce the same thing every time? he's playing with his creativity and IMO doing a f*cking great job. he's one of the most honest, raw and prolific musicians we have right now. he's given us a great time for many years, so let him have a good time, he's earned it. join in and support his evolution! FTHC. love him.
