Lyrics
Well I know I'm just an ignorant Englishman
But I'd like to make America great again
So if you'll forgive my accent and the cheek of it
Here's some suggestions from the special relationship
Let's make America great again
By making racists ashamed again
Let's make compassion in fashion again
Let's make America great again
Well I've been fortunate to go 'round the continent
From California through the midwest and Providence
And I've mostly only encountered common sense
Hospitality and warmth from Americans
But I wish it was a bit less significant
The program and the name of the President
Because it seems to me the truth is self-evident
You fought our king to be independent
Make America great again
By making racists ashamed again
Let's make compassion in fashion again
Let's make America great again
Ellis Island take me in
Everyone can start again
In the shining city on the hill
Where nobody can be illegal
Let's make America great again
By making racists ashamed again
Let's make compassion in fashion again
Let's make America great again
Let's be a friend to our oldest friends
And call them out when they're faltering
Remind them of their best selves and then
We'll make America great again
#FrankTurner

I'd like someone to tell me what I've been doing with my life: if I hadn't heard "Little Changes" in a grocery store, of all places, twice, I'd still have no idea this guy existed. And thank God he does. This is my new hero. This is Joy.

I love that an Englishman reclaimed the battle cry "Make America Great Again" and wrote a song about inclusion, compassion, and our better selves...AND THEN took it to the streets in a funny and heart-warming video complete with a bit of Brit humor! wonderful :D

Hey Frank Turner,so i was watching Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld & Eric’s Tuesday live stream and there you were🙂 slightly embarrassed to say that I had not heard of you until today. I have to say this,Blue October 💙FAVORITE BAND, JUSTIN FURSTENFELD,NO ONE IN MY Universe anyway takes the number one spot, singer, songwriter, musician. OK so I got that out-of-the-way. I am so happy Justin had you on the show and I was able to find you and listen to your tunes I Wouldn’t take the time to write this if I really didn’t feel it .You guys are awesome love your sounds. Wow you’ve been around for a while but new to me & maybe some other ppl.loving it now you’re Music important enough to make it a part of my list. Of awesome unique,Different styles that’ still have some familiarity with other bands I love. That is always magical to me.Anyway so glad to have found you will take my time listening to all your tunes.Oh btw not sure if this will sit right with you but I couldn’t help connect you being in America, you are wearing a little American bowtie 😀made me think of Stings Song, I’m an alien I’m a legal alien, I’m an Englishman in New York. Although I believe you were in Texas at the time(lol)you produce this song & the video.Peace out 😉✌🏻❤️ Foreva.

There's so much musically across this album that feels weird because Frank is playing with so many different new sounds; part of me is a little put off...but then I hear the lyrics and I get that little lump in my throat that reminds me why his poetry is so powerful and why I love it so much and then nothing else matters. It's fantastic. It's fucking fantastic.

Every time I hear this song it reminds me of why I'm so against so much of the shit going on in this country. It's easy to focus on what you hate but this track makes me think of what I love and why I stand against all those things. We gotta remember what we're fighting for otherwise we're just bitter people. I want my country to be what it promises in the statue of liberty, and what my teachers taught me in school, even if they didn't mean it. I want everyone to be able to persue their own dreams, and be themselves, and for people to not be listed as "illegal" or lesser for where they were born or who they love or the color of their skin. Thanks for reminding me what all the anger is for Frank; it's so easy to forget and just get bitter and angry. As always, your music has helped by headspace. Maybe I can't do shit on a large scale, but I can try to be a good person myself and be welcoming. When everything you read about is fucking nazis and bigots, it's easy to lose perspective.

as a person of faith i love that atheists are free to be atheists. if everyone looked at each other as individuals instead of looking at them as part of groups we do or dont like then i think that would help make america greater. our race, gender, sexual orientation, political views are something we have but neither of them encapsulate us or comprehensively define us. we all share similarities yet none are the same. there's much to celibrate in each unique us being unique cogs in this country.

Yeah, so I'm listening to this over and over, digging the lyrics, inhaling the spirit of the song, and I'm friggin crying. THIS is what the world (and America) should be like, positive, helpful, GOOD. Not this stinking shitpile that Trump and his merry band of selfcentered nitwits push. Sorry, not very "positive, helpful, good" of me, eh? It THIS frustration about not being able to be my best self anymore, about having been infected with the hate-bug, that makes your song resonate so incredibly deeply. Thank you.

@@TJones-zw9mw you liberals didnt except that trump won,you tried to impeach him for a scandal that wasn't true. Biden won because he got about 3 million mail in ballots over night. That's not a fair win, trump has lawsuits ready and he took the 3 million ballot lawsuit to the supreme court. So you stfu and dont tell me to accept anything.
