man that period of silence between you two brought tears to my eyes. seeing a couple guys my age share stillness/silence in that way is really inspiring and motivating. that kind of ease is where i feel the practice taking me, like a beautiful view of the path ahead. it hasn't been easy, so that view is much appreciated. thank you.

29:28 WOW I thought I was the only one. Every time I drink, I get the funny sense of something spiritual happening. I feel more present and more equanimity, as well as parts of ego dissolving. Really liked this interview, you and frank are both awesome and I really resonate when you said you wish everyone happiness because I also feel like that, sometimes I just have so much love in my heart. Great interview and I also found it really cool when you were in silence because as you mentioned people always find themselves uncomfortable with silence and they try to fil that space with anything (and this also happens to me). Lots of love from Argentina, I really hope you are ok and at peace❤💓

Wow. I literally had the same break up experience as you. Dated a girl for 3+ years we broke up when we both went to college. Talked for a bit then we decided it was best to stop talking. Was in a really terrible mental/emotional space and ended up taking a big dose of LSD where I had ego death. That propelled me into spirituality and helped me get to where I’m at right now. I just want her and everyone else to be happy however that looks. Just letting life play out naturally without getting in the way too much. Great conversation and thanks for sharing.

"The whole path swallowed by the void and boooom finally 0/0 deeper than any experience, really is vaster than sky, totally emphty and full simultaniesly. Wtf this is like a mega cessasion or what ever that is when u blink out of existance but it goes deeper, so deep its not even deep just 0, no dimension to be found here, no here to be found, no width, no nono no wtf. No Enlightenment and that god damn map and most importantly no Frank Yang"

Is the solution to samsara exclusively experiential? The assumption is that our conditioning stands in the way of the experience of nirvana. It is a dualistic doctrine based on the apparent reality of subject and object. I, the subject, am limited by my state of mind. Because limitation is not acceptable to me I would like to free myself of it. I practice some form of meditation and gain mastery of my mind by removing the thoughts that obstruct the experience of limitlessness. My experience of limitlessness is the object. Buddha’s Eightfold Path and Ashtanga Yoga are the traditional methods for gaining experiential freedom. Buddha did not bring God into it but Patanjali did, saying that surrender to God is an indirect aid for attaining freedom. Success in meditation does not destroy duality. I am still me, the subject, but I now experience freedom. Patanjali does not put it exactly this way. He says that once the mind is brought under control,“the seer dwells in its own nature” and “the indweller shines forth as pure consciousness,” words that amount to freedom but do not take into account the fact that the seer, awareness, dwells in his own nature and shines forth irrespective of the condition of the mind. Nor does it take into account the fact that the meditator is consciousness, i.e., free already. In any case, enlightened or not, a mind free of desire is certainly not undesirable for anyone seeking happiness. This view is fairly reasonable and would not have endured for two thousand years if there was not some truth to it, but it is a very arduous path requiring an austere lifestyle and many years of rigorous practice.
@joeniemchak
@joeniemchak Жыл бұрын
This was all so beautiful, thank you for taking the time to comment. How familiar are you with Ashtanga yoga and PatanjalI? I have been drawn more towards studying Yoga and the 8 limbs as of recent. Would love to have a chat sometime!

Is that silence a practice or something just flow your flow? It is really rare to see that and I am not knowing anything about awakening. So I am curious about that. Doesn’t that weird or awkward even wasting time when talk to someone and do this silence? Sorry for my ignorance .
@joeniemchak
@joeniemchak 2 ай бұрын
hi! As practice deepens, silence can be the most rich aspect of experience to sink into. It may seem like not much is going on in the video, but presence is rich in those moments creating no need for anyone to fill the space. Formal meditation can involve sinking deeper and deeper into the profound nothingness that's here and I suppose that starts to bleed into day to day life. There's something so profound about simply being. Being is all there ever is though, silent or not. Regardless, an appreciation and awe for every moment seems to become the case as practice deepens and this includes moments of silence. I guess that's just where the conversation led to. No different than if we would've been talking the whole time instead. I hope this answers your question. Let me know if there's anything else I can answer :)

Something smells fishy. Frank redirects his answers to other teachers a lot. Also when you ask a question you often suggest an answer in your question which frank just agrees with. Nothing new is garnered. His information is vague. He keeps saying 'when he was on the path' as if he has reached the destination as if Self realization is the end point and not the starting point. He feels a bit like one of those psychics who uses misdirection and confusion to make you think you got something out of it. To me it seems like you answered all your own questions.
