About my videos: These videos are a resource for anyone wishing to wake up from the dream of separation. Awakening, enlightenment, and liberation are becoming far more mainstream possibilities than they once were. There are many good teachers out there, and if you resonate with the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Rupert Spira, or Sadhguru, you might find resources here that address these deeper promptings to investigate your true nature.

The inquiries presented herein are potent and can have powerful effects on the way you experience yourself and reality. If you feel you are at risk of harming yourself or others, these videos and practices may not be the best thing for you at the moment. Seek help wherever necessary which might include a hospital emergency department, a suicide helpline etc.

LOVE that Frank did this. I've been following him for 10 or 11 years and it's been crazy to see his evolution. I related to the music stuff cuz that's my main vocation myself but then I was super into working out at the time I first discovered him, as well as his wild video style and philosophical topics, but then he went down the spiritual rabbit hole which was also something I'd always been into. So, I've remained engaged with his stuff all this time. Then he does this interview with you, Angelo and I'd never seen or heard of you. Now I'm way into your stuff! Good times.

Awesome interview. Thanks Angelo and Frank. 53:09 what Frank said about creativity absolutely is REAL. Few months after I started non duality meditation, i found myself when improvising on my piano, I go into 'automatic mode'. By that I mean (I still play at my level and ability) there's is no THINKING (egoic mind) invoice is. NO self criticism, no self doubt, no need to think about what chords to play or why did I play this here and there, NO 'I should have'.....etc. playing with the flow is just so beautiful.
@BlossomVpiano
@BlossomVpiano Жыл бұрын
Absolutely playing at the right moment at the right time (in essence, there's NO right or wrong). What 'I' ( as in I AM, true self ) play when I improvise, is beyond what 'i' (egoic self) could ever thought of playing.

Very interesting how Frank got started, I was into that pick-up scene as well (back in 2006). In fact, my journey started there because I was baffled at why girls used to practically avoid me, or only ever seemed to want to be 'friends'. In that area I learned to stop being too concerned about what other people thought of me, and because I began to relax, gained a bit of confidence, the girls started to notice. Then, that self-analysis led onto a book about stage fright in relation to performing music, which, again, focused on self-defeating thoughts about other people's perception of us; The author even had a no-self experience after a meditation period of a week, which was meant to help him relax and enjoy the music more when he had to play since he performed at a high level; he didn't call it no self, but reading it again after I learned about ego death, it was clear that that was what he briefly experienced; I didn't know anything about enlightenment before then, even though he briefly mentioned the terms shakti and moksha in the book and I read it several times - he was all about stepping out of your own way... I eventually got led down other routes of self examination in an attempt to deal with the inner anguish I often felt... I think that's a kind of seeking journey itself because I was trying to get to the bottom of 'who I was' back then, or how to deal with the person I felt I was because that seemed to be a problem. Wasn't until about 8 years later, after being through several relationships, a separation, that I found myself in Vipassana.... what a journey eh?... I say this because I definitely understand that part of the route taken by Frank.

Very powerful process indeed.......Frank Yang's videos are fascinating but leads me to think that this process can be potentiall very destabliziing......as he said you need a strong ego before you can give it up......but what if you are (like me) a neurotic insecure physcially weak person...(65 year old) ....is this shift closed off to me? ......maybe.....For a rather different take see Christiane Michelberger who is a senior (like me) rather than a body builder who had to deal cancer and attendent fears and mortality, which a young guy like Yang was probably less concerned with. Her working through the Buddhist path seems a bit more gentle (though she was always banging her car due to the change in visual perception)....but compelling interview with a guy he seemed to have heroically "achieved" awakening through his own hard efforts (with lots of dark nights as he said). This path is obviously not all skittles and beer ....or campaign and roses to use a more modern idiom.....but perhaps this is just doubt.....the final barrier?

One thing I notice is that I do seem to have a mechanism that holds back from expressing my darker side if it would be harmful to others. I don't know if that's just a human morality thing or if the intelligence of being is inherently compassionate. It's amazing how the energy comes online at the right time.

Sometimes I question why I listen to these other people when they keep referring to Adya. And what the problem is even though these two have been pretty prolific, Aja just has so much content, and it’s only recently that I have found sources of him that are really directive. I even went to one of his retreats once, and even though it was a very pleasant experience, I don’t remember coming away from it feeling like I had anymore direction. I guess that’s just how things are meant to unfold here. I sure hope Angelo is right, though I have to say I have been around others who have been on the path even longer than I. I’m old enough that these people were peers and have already passed on, and they were inspired and comforted by the knowledge, but they never really understood things at an experiential level. Years and years later they were still saying well I get it intellectually, but… I guess I have no control over whether that’s going to happen here or not. In the meantime, I don’t mean to sound ungrateful because I’m very very glad that I got introduced to Angelo’s work, and I’m enjoying the exposure to Frank as well. So, how many people have signed up for Angelo’s online retreat in July?
