Ah, Magdalena, it's very kind of you. There are four other parts to it: Composing, TV evangelism, Party Hats, and one last question. I'm not sure if I've updated them with the new book cover. Must check.

From reading Moon’s book, and my very brief email conversations with her, I truly do believe the families main issues with one another were started by Gail, and that Gail’s main issues came from the unique arrangement she and Frank had. My best conclusion I can draw from Gail is that she wanted control in the end, probably because she lacked control as a child and adult. Bob Zappa found out about Frank’s death through the media, and the way the estate was left to the younger siblings controlling everything there was little chance anything but family conflict would result. If the Zappa siblings want to move on from this they’ll need to work through bitterness, resentment, and look at themselves without judgement and without excuses. Love can’t exist where bitterness and resentment have a stronghold. Without giving up that “I’m right” real estate they all have in one form or another, little will change. Eventually people start leaving this earth, and then regret comes in. The lost opportunities of tomorrow are available today.

Wise words. It would be nice if one or more of the Zappa offspring would see your comment.

Just to let you know, John Smothers wasn't actually Frank's bodyguard for the 1988 tour.

Quite right but I think Frank was talking about an earlier time. It's not actually clear, and I don't see how to edit it now. But it's good to see Zappa fans on the alert!

Laurel canyon was a spooky place. How do you figure so many people in one place become famous with lousy music? Any answers? What did you see? What did you witness?

And is it true that a lot of them had military in their family background? Just asking? I mean David Crosby could barely play the guitar!

@@saturnlizards That book about spooky Laurel Canyon is fake news. First, the Military was the biggest employer in US in 1968 on to end of Vietnam War so you would have found that connection in any group of people - lawyers, nurses, bricklayers, vicars, etc. And the fact that so many died young, well, that's the danger of taking heavy drugs.

I was not involved with the music. I found it as difficult to get out of the enclosed Zappa world as others found it to get in. Of course, I saw the rehearsals with the Mothers, but they interestingly are not included in the spooky group, are they?

I'll edit it out. It's a note to myself. In the original Frank gives a long speech about AIDS which is no longer relevant so I've taken it out. I have another video in my list with it still included.

For some strange reason YT gives me no option to edit the title. It was there for a note to myself because I took out the part on AIDS which is no longer relevant.

Silly me. I was clicking on the three little dots where the edit option is normally listed, but YT make it easier by giving a large blue edit button beneath the video which I've only just seen. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
