Two transformers on the way to the Garenfeld substation
On the first weekend of November, Amprion transports two 276-tonne transformers from the Iserlohn-Hennen station to the Garenfeld substation in Hagen. The heavy transport will cover the nearly 30-kilometer route over two days. By the end of August, the first of a total of five transformers had been placed in the transformer station. Two more are expected to follow in late November.
This Friday, November 1, at 10 pm, the transport of the two 380-kilovolt transformers to the Garenfeld substation in Hagen begins at the transformer transshipment point at the Hennen railway station in Iserlohn. The transport will go by night to the trail car park Wannebach on Letmather Straße in Schwerte. On Saturday, November 2, at 10 pm, the second stage will start at the Garenfeld substation.
The transport vehicles each have a total length of around 80 meters and together with the transformer weigh 519 tons each. On the transport route several roundabouts and difficult turns must be mastered. Another challenge is the crossing of the A45 motorway at the junction Schwerte / Ergste. The two Trafotransporte drive in Ergste first against the direction of travel on the highway and leave immediately again on the other side of the driveway. The reason for the maneuver is that the transport units are too heavy for the bridge over the highway. On the first trip in August, the Trafotransporter drove to the makeshift exit in front of the Lennetal bridge. Since this is no longer necessary, the freeway will be able to be re-opened to traffic faster.
The transport involves about 40 employees from different companies during the two nights. For a good year, the Dortmund transmission system operator Amprion has been preparing for road transport.
Amprion is currently planning to transport the last two transformers to the Garenfeld substation at the end of November.

Super Video. Ganz tolle ruhige Aufnahmen. Im richtigen Leben werde ich so einen Schwerlast Transport leider nie sehen. In der Schweiz gibt es das zu selten. Für mich zählt as Video zu den besten die ich über solche Transporte gesehen habe. Dazu noch eine gute Beschreibung. Einfach top! Vielen Dank für die Arbeit und das hochladen. Die Schlepper transportierten Trafos für das Umspannwerk in Garenfeld. Dieser Transport hatte die Trafos zwei und drei von insgesamt fünf geladen. Der erste kam bereits im August an. Da habe ich aber leider keinen Film von.
