@@FrankDuepree the piano solo in the middle of piece of the original clip was always curious to me - did you write the one at 2:19 complete with Gershwin reference? Did Kapustin envision the pianist to improvise, that is, if he envisioned anyone to see this score at all? There are many strange things cinematically about that original clip that I'm sure you noticed... It seems there are also some differences between the manuscript and the shortened version, not only missing material. I wonder how that happened

@@FrankDuepree Ich bin über deinen Kanal auf Kapustin aufmerksam geworden und habe mich bereits an das ein oder andere Stück gewagt...da ich Piano nur nebenberuflich mache, ist leider nicht ganz so viel Zeit da, um die teils doch sehr anspruchsvollen Läufe zu üben. Und es empfiehlt sich nicht, sich davor ein Arrangement von dir reinzuziehen, wenn man nicht maximal ernüchtert ans Üben gehen will (was ich damit sagen will: deine Darbietungen am Piano sind Weltklasse, meine (noch) nicht)...Grüße

That one maybe not likely the first recording, perhaps this is the first classical studio recording after a tale I found . According to some underground tales, It is said the first recording correction motion pictures found is in 1960s, "Когда песня не кончается", which is one of well known SSSR (CCCP) motion pictures . Although the VHS is slightly faster than the movie. so far, I am still figuring how to deal with Cyrillic script and their usages, the current major branch is russian.

It's true, that Kapustin recorded the Toccata Op. 8 for the movie "When the Song Does Not End (Russian: Когда песня не кончается)". For that sequence they used only 2 minutes of the toccata. There are some parts missing in the movie clip with Kapustin himself on the piano. In the manuscript, you can find more bars and passages, that were not played in the movie. That's the reason, why we released the official complete version of Opus 8.

It probably shouldn't but it's really tripping me up that Kapustin's son is a theoretical physicist and one who may helped contribute what I think may end up being on of the most important ideas in decades (geometric langlands correspodence in mathematics being a generalized description of strong - weak coupling duality e.g electromagnetism).
