Omg, frankel was a unique horse, very unlikely we will ever see his type again. Mr cecil was so proud, and rightly so

I just love this horse! Aside from being amazing and a rock star, I love the way he does it; he's like a bullet! He takes off as if he's got a whole new gear! And when he does (sorry if it sounds goofy, but love makes you do and say crazy things) he has this intense look on his beautiful face; he puts his ears back where you almost cant see them, flares his nostrils a bit, puts neck down and his chin out and captures such an amazing rhythm! Its like he has a secret to his speed, but he's not tellin',that speaks with out words, that somehow he MUST cross that line first! And he does! Whether Tom starts him more in the front when he breaks from the gate, or has him in the back, it makes no difference, Frankel breezes past them all every time! Frankel truly is the best of the best and such an absolutely fascinating pleasure to watch! He is Mr.Majestic in every way, and I just love him. He'll always be one of my all time favorites!-💖🗻🌲🌄🏇🐎🏫

He literally shortens his stride and doubles his action , ive never seen a horse do that ever , watch the way he almost churns up the ground , the minute tom gives him the flick , its instant like spring recoiling, an absolute freak , you will never see another like him in a lifetime , utterly unbelievable

@@BBoyBiff I agree! I cant even imagine the kind of good fortune it would be to have such a spectacular animal, with all the right qualities to achieve such greatness. I dont know much about the trainer, but I would imagine with a horse as outstandingly equipped as Frankel, it must have been such an amazing experience to have been a part of him. Or what a thrill it must have been for Tom, to race him. I absolutely love watching that horse run. His rhythm is incredible. I cant quite put into words, the subtle difference that he has in his full gallop vs other horses, but its something to behold. There's nothing quite like seeing perfection in action. I couldnt agree more about how fascinating Frankel is. There are good horses, and there are great ones. We're so lucky to have lived to see this one-of-a-kind horse, "do his thing", as Its not everyday, in their relatively short lifespan, we would be so blessed as to witness a horse of such exceptional quality. Its hard to say one horse stands out as the most beautiful because there are so many, but when it comes to heart, spirit and the perfect conformation for running/ racing, God Almighty must have broke the mold with his creation of him, making him the ultimate of athleticism. The exhilaration of seeing Frankel race and win, with his unique intensity, isnt something only true horse lover's understand, as his greatness is entirely obvious. It is something, and he is something, I'll never get tired of seeing. Thanks for sharing your love of Frankel with me. A common appreciation has a unity that seems to be becoming more rare in an increasingly divisive world. Its always enjoyable to have and share a mutial liking of things in common. A nice reminder that there are still people who like and see the same things we do that are awesome and miraculous in or about this world. Thanks for your reply.

That move by Frankel on the bend was sheer poetry.

To put this into context. The horse who finished second (Klammer) won a group race next time out and the horse that finished third (Treasure Beach) went on to run a hd second in the English Derby and then went on to win the Irish Derby but Frankel beats both them both by 10 lengths and this race probably wouldn't even make Frankel's top three for best performances !! Incredible horse

That move that Frankel made coming round the bend was Secretariatesque when at Pimlico he went from last to first on the first bend of the Preakness Stakes. I don't think we ever saw Frankel hit Top Gear. Probably at the Guineas coasting in 4th but nobody could match him to really push him.

My God he’s just enjoying himself it’s as though he’s testing him self seeing what he can do watched this guy going up Warren hill several times when he went past you you wish you were on board he’s so graceful he’s such a galloper head down ears back he knows he’s something special with out being cocky or arrogant love the story of keeping up with the train wouldn’t put it past him must have clocked 35 /40mph when he went past me lol a Ferrari of a horse

For me, superior to Pinatubo at the Curragh. Crabs in behind had to be raised (upto 7lb!) to justify Arizona matching his Prix Morny performance (RPR 104) despite the whole field being pulverised and therefore impossible to say they (who are exposed I might add, albeit up in trip) ran the race of their life - and by a long way. This gave way to Armory's 105 figure and therefore Pinatubos 128 (on the basis of 2.6lb per Length over 7f). Frankel annihilated a very good horse in Klammer (who beat none other than Danedream previously) and went on to win his next start at listed level. He was then retired, but Frankel was seemingly underrated for receiving 22lb in dominance over Klammer - and that's after taking up on the steel 3f from home. Frankel won by 10L but only received an RPR of 125. There's a case to say Klammer performed as good as, or better than Armory in the Vincent O'brien Stakes. He was a horse making progress. And so Frankel would have at least matched Pinatubo. The way I see it, Pinatubo has been overrated upto 4lb, while Frankel was probably underrated upto 4lb, or more. And I'd have Frankel beating Pinatubo over any distance, at the corresponding stages of their career, anyyy day of the week! :D

@Lee SOG you mention ratings ect, It brought back a very interesting tweet with Simon Rowlands Nov. 2012 Quote: " PT1, Was the 153 you quoted in that article you did in 2008 just for the Belmont because a lot Sec fanatics keep bringing it up. SR-I have seldom seen it mentioned anywhere, so bit surprised to learn it has been discussed so widely! PT1=It’s mainly from the Trolls on Frankel YT vids slagging him off. LOL. Was it just that 1 race? SR-Yes. Though a couple of his other efforts may well have been in the 139 region. Bless the Trolls: for they are to be pitied. :-) PT1-But is it definitive SR- It is not definitive. It was some private research I did when between jobs. If published I would wish to revisit. But it still would be around at least 149. But for it to be definitively "Timeform" it would require additional research, PT1- Do you think Frankel got have achieved a higher rating than 147. SR- Personally I think he could have easily done a 153+, but that is NOT a TF view, It's often the case that wide-margin winners have more to give

Whenever I watch this race it always makes me wonder why they thought he needed a pacemaker at 3 and 4. There are several examples of races where he settled beautifully either in the lead or further back.

@@elgransenor1472 because he needs his races to be set up for him, totally rigged because he cant set his own pace and wasnt competitive in the running and solely relied on pacemakers to take the sting out of the field first,he was lucky in his 7th win and i have no doubt if in that race without a pacemaker hed finish 6th

@@russe19642 I got the impression the pulling was a habit he developed. Naturally he was a high paced horse and I think he wasn't getting the type of competition he needed in his track work between his two year old and three year old seasons. Cecil then started galloping with two horses and forcing him to sit behind them, thus eventually he was able to shut down again better in races, but Bullet Train made sure the pace was quick enough to keep him there. Honestly, I thought toward the end of his four year old campaign he was a little too shut off. I also think he is a fairly intelligent horse, and maybe he was just bored. It's fun to go fast when your a Ferrari.
