I do think Karl is just naturally funny, as a product of his nature. He started out as Ricky's producer, but RIcky and Stephen thought he was hilarious and put him in front of the camera. There are times when he seems to "break character" and laugh. Like at 12:42 you can see a glimmer of it. I think he IS just naturally like that, but I think he's become more self-aware and leans into it now. Brilliant stuff.
