It's kinda a miracle that Stryper even exists in a world where faith is so often mocked and shamed. You might disagree with the message, but you can't find fault with the musicianship. They are no cheap imitation.

I remember in an Independent Baptist Church the Assitant Pastor and Choir Director showed us a pic of Stryper in their tight yellow and black outfits with their make up looking like women with their long hair. Robert is the meat and potatoes in Stryper. Impecable timing, and solid as a rock! He’s still a huge inspiration to me. It’s cool how he has three floor toms. I have a 16”&18” floor toms and it’s a bit of a stretch for me. I can’t imagine having an extra one. I’m waiting to see them here in Texas at the end of May. I’m gonna miss tiny Tim with them. I will still check out his other projects anyways. God bless both Tim and the rest of Stryper.

FYI the Bass is an Overture brand TG Signature and Michael and Oz are playing Carvin axes. One last point - you will or should notice that in some songs Michael and Oz prove they are heavy weights in the world of dueling leads. Top three club actually. Maiden, Priest and Stryper in that order simply because of age not talent. All three have dueling lead guitarists that made rock history!
@steve7onfire6 жыл бұрын
Yes it's true that Tim's bass is an Overture, but Mike is using here his signature Washburn V and Oz is using one of his GMW signature guitars. Mike used to use a Carvin Ultra V, loved that guitar. Still has it and I've seen it up close, beautiful man.

To those criticizing the show, I see all the symptoms of stage monitor issues. The vocal hesitance, the drum mishits, they look at their instruments a lot more than at other shows I've seen. It's really hard to play and sing this stuff when you can't hear. Less professional acts wouldn't be able to do the show at all.

Bass Polizei...Robert gets sea sick when when he would see the water. So they turned his riser so he couldn't see the water out of the corner of his eyes.
@basspolizei63477 жыл бұрын
Monroe thanks for the explanation. However, I saw them in Dallas and OKC before seeing this and he was facing the crowd with no water even nearby. I think he wanted to change it up a bit but I wished had not because that and his playing made him different and super cool. He is the "visual time keeper." 33 or so years after first meeting them in Tulsa I met him again at OKC. I told him that we had done this exact thing in Tulsa 30 plus years ago. He bowed his tired head oddly. He then looked back at me and said "the Old Lady right?" He was right! That was the theater he had met me at 30 plus years earlier. Exhausted as he was he still was pure in thought and was correct.
@monroefive-o407 жыл бұрын
Bass Your probably right. I know it was something the guys used to rag him about.(Getting Sea Sick) so I just took it for that here. He did like to change it up in later years! I think it was just expected of him to always play sideways to the crowd that when he didn't there was some other reason why he didn't. Personally I like the change up from time to time! The guy is a monster behind the kit! I like how he has those insane spurts of wild-man! Can't get any cooler than that!
@melissaB.19786 жыл бұрын
I think Robert just got tired of looking sideways and not directly at the crowd. I guess it would get boring being you playing a big arena rock show and youre not even looking at your fans. Maybe he looked just a time or two when he happens to turn his head. We use to purposely stand towards that side of the stage just so we could look at Robert face to get a good look at his playing skills from a different view !
@basspolizei63476 жыл бұрын
Maybe M. but it was so cool and unique like the rest of the members and band that it added that extra needed touch to make them stand out amongst the crowd and it worked. Just sad that those days are over. If your ever a drummer in a band do it. It will get you noticed and it added clarity to his claim to fame - the "visual time keeper."
