I agree 100% If stryper would of never broke up. They would of been as big as Queen. Hopefully Stryper will release a bluray. This show is very clear, thanks to pioneer who filmed for 12 inch laserdisc quality. It could easily be remastered for bluray even though its filmed in 4×3 ratio.
@stephensdygert76008 жыл бұрын
The covering is the best cover album ever done in the history of cover albums. I would like them to do a covering "2" Could you imangine stryper doing the styx song "Sweet madame blue"? Or Uriah Heep "Look at yourself". Ken Hensley is a strong believer. In fact Uriah Heep the original lineup was a Godly band.

I remember watching this on VHS over and over in the 80s. It is amazing that they can still put on a great show these days. Although the stage outfits are a little better and the hair a little flatter now. Rock on, Stryper!

jj bug I used to watch it over,and over to myself back then.
Hey yeah ... unheard of - '85 I was a 28 yo Christian for 15 years not heard of them in Australia. Warned of all Rock-Metal ... for Evie T, 2nd Chapter of Acts, & other Pop Gospel music. Hungry for Rock music at that age. What a shame. STRYPER ROCK'S 👏👏🙏🤘

To answer those who wondered about the different lyrics on the "Soldiers..." era songs, that is correct. This is NOT 1986 but early 1985 during the tour Stryper did in Japan with Loudness. The lyrics for "Soldiers" had not yet taken their final form as this was BEFORE "Soldiers" came out. They are still going strong with the original members releasing the CD "No More Hell to Pay" in 2013. Check it out!
@stephensdygert76008 жыл бұрын
I had this in 12inch laserdisc. We have pioneer elctr. to thank back then. They were the only company dedicated to "disc" technology. Everybody wanted a crummy vsr. When and where will Stryper release a bluray. This show coud be remastered for bluray or sd- bluray. Check out on u- tube The dream of the christmas guitar. Dygertron the greatest christmas story in the history of the world.

roy summers Rocking for Jesus? They were a bit on the risqué side; just look at the obvious -- you will see exposed chest, female-style hair & makeup (eyeshadow? seriously?), and the tight fitting leather pants and "dance" moves designed to accentuate his male anatomy (@5:27, for example).I thought they were a bit edgy when I was a "young person" back in the day, but now, there's no doubt about it.
@douglasbarsamian15939 жыл бұрын
Bubba Davis Meat gazer!! Every band dressed and looked like that, it was the 80's lol.
@bubbadavis71229 жыл бұрын
No, not every band dressed and looked (and behaved) like that. I, like most young people, was very much into the bands and what not of the day. Only a handful of over-the-top bands were like that, and the "Christian" sub-genre, such an extreme was simply non-existent if not for Stryper.
@en57889 жыл бұрын
+Steve Douglas Christians doesn't mean perfection. They appealed to teens back then. Many folks on here say listening to Stryper helped them get away from drugs and violent thoughts, etc. No one is perfect, but they always had a solid message pointing people to the peace of Christ.
@stephensdygert76008 жыл бұрын
stryper hates being called a "christian rock band" They are a group that plays rock oriented guitar music that happen to be believers in the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Whether or not you are into the lyrics, they are probably the most consummate musicians to come out of the LA Metal scene. Not only could they craft great songs with rich melodies, they were all practically virtuosos at their instruments, certainly compared to many of their peers.

All of you that claim Stryper aren't real Christians because you decide to quote the verse about Satan "looking appealing" and applying it to any context you see fit without evidence, remember when the Pharisees claimed Christ performed miracles through sorcery? Don't be like that.

vikingrich Sorry, but you are incorrect. I absolutely love this band and have since 1985. Was fortunate enough to sit sidestage at 3 shows, (86, 88 & 90). They had a keyboard player who rarely played w/them on stage. And yes they have also used tracks (mostly vocal). Btw.....saw them again in 2010.

The video is from 86, I saw them in 86 and they used tracks and a keyboard player in 86.
