I wish this was the case, but unfortunately, no. I attended Frankfurt for the Frankfurt aviation slide convention in early November and then I came back home. I’ve been attending the Frankfurt aviation slide convention every November for the last 20+ years. I’m now on my annual winter holiday.

This location is best for watching de-icing action in winter. Those planes are parked on the de-icing apron.

Have you been to the miniature Frankfort Airport. I believe it is either in Frankfort or Berlin!

No, I’ve never been to that attraction ever. I know they have one in Amsterdam as well.

Hi Henry, Runway 18 opened in 1984 and was very controversial with locals they did not want it and there were massive protests etc. Anyway the viewing area there I do not think this has been there many years as looks fairly new but there may have been something else before it, local knowledge required, anyone?

As I explained on the video, I’ve been coming to Frankfurt for 20 years, but I never knew this spot existed. If I did, I would’ve been coming to the spot since the late 90s. I wish I knew as I much prefer this location to the point halfway down the runway, which is absolutely packed with people.

@ Mr Tenby the viewing area by Rwy 18 was built in 2012, spoke to a German spotter who informed me.😊
