To answer the question - in terms of quantity and usage duration the 747 is clearly the winner, when it comes to silence and comfort the A380 is leapes ahead. As much as I enjoy Airbus's success as a European, as much I hope Boeing gets their $hit together and returns to its initial great quality and success as well to keep the market balanced.

As an American, I agree 100%. The A380 is the most comfortable aircraft I've flown in. On all the twin engines by both companies, once inside as a passanger, they all feel very much alike and that's fine. The world needs both companies, if not more in the future.

Great documentary, credit where credit is due on both parts. Its unfortunate that typical corporate greed has led to the demise and trust of the once proud American icon of Boeing, making me wonder how long before the 777 and 787 models start failing, hopfully on the ground during inspections only !!! Shame on Boeing for putting profits ahead of safety!!!
@Inquisite10312 ай бұрын
The 787 has had no hull losses and no fatalities in 13 years of flying over Millions of hours of flight time, airplanes don't just fall out of the sky for no reason, the 777 also has an impeccable safety record with 8 hull losses in 30 years most of which were not related to the design of the aircraft, but it is an aging plane, even the 737 Max is 2 hull losses in 10 years, like people just blow things out of proportion without properly looking at the statistics, and Aviation is a very visible platform that most people dont have in depth knowledge on and its easy to do sloppy journalism just for clicks $$ and get away with.
@Blank002 күн бұрын
The 777 is safe, no incident has been caused by Boeing. After the initial teething problems with the 787 battery, the 787 has been flying since 2014 with no incident caused by Boeing. Also, Boeing isn’t the only cause of failures. A well build plane can be ruined by botched maintenance, and Boeing typically doesn’t do the maintenance for planes in service with airlines.

The decision to increase the distance that 2-engine aircraft are allowed to fly was basically the decision that ended the hub and spoke model. And Boeing anticipated on that in time. Which makes you wonder: who made that decision? Something to think about in the light of current understanding of the intertwined relation between Boeing and the FAA.
@jetsgardner54905 ай бұрын
The European bias and errors in this are numerous and unforgivable. This is nothing more a 380 advert and is presented as romantic wonderful dream with lush lengthy bios of Airbus execs, vs the "Oh by the way" 747, not mentioning that the A380 has so much wasted space inside that they could've fit another 100+ passengers in it making it an economic success instead of the instant failure it was except for multi millionaire and Saudi Oil princes/travelers who could afford the high ticket prices. Then there's the sloffing off of American terminology and culture. That's not a Pontiac; it's a Chevrolet Camaro at 18:44. The jet is correctly called a 7-forty-7 at 19:21, not a 7-4-7 as the narrator repeatedly mangles it.
@dmcr95255 ай бұрын
There is nothing wrong with saying 7-4-7 at all. Many aviation professionals, such as myself, as well as many Boeing engineers, the original flight test crew, techs, and countless others have and continue to refer to it as The 7-4-7. In addition, that is NOT a Camaro sir.

@@dmcr9525 I grew up as an Air Force brat and lived my teen years at the end of the runway pattern of Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. Every TV ad, every professional, every pilot referred to them as 7-forty-7s. It was my adopted airplane, and is insulting to hear it called anything else. It's like listening to your best friend's name constantly being mispronounced... period. Watch any historical video on the design and building of a 747 and you'll see I'm right. It's equal to growing up and every science/astronomy class referred to the planet as "Your - ay - nus" and now they want to call it "Your - in- us" like it's made out of urine or something.

@@dmcr9525 Watch a transition video called "What Happened To The Boeing 747?" Any American speaking who isn't the 👉European👈 narrator calls the American built jet the 7-forty-7. Anyone who flew on the jet appearing on camera called it a 7-40-7. The reason for the change in name was the over population of videos from Europe where it was called the 7-4-7 or simply the "Jumbo". The Boeing 747 has nuclear rights to carry boiling missiles. The 747 is a code number of balancig the tetra molecues with lead, where the 4 stands for the code of the most dangerous tetra hydoxde in the world. When lead or lead warheads are added to the nuclear bomb, the moving capability of the nuclear molecues will be higher in the body, 7 times. Airplanes have a deltaeder design, because the cuttig capability of the explosives affect the plane and the nearby houses. The Boeig 747 has a ballistic design to carry the tetra molecules, a gravity change or a deliberate earthquake would flip over an other type of plane. The Little Boy bomb also has such a design, to avoid landing elsewhere, if an underground explosion happens. A ballistic missile can be carried with a heat balloon as well to do the gravity trick. Airlines are called like this, because the linear nuclear molecules have to be carried in a linear path, to avoid a gravity collision. The linear frame buffer in computers is a prgram designed to make linear nuckear molecules. The simple equation is: x=y=0. It's when you open a pair of scissors, and mve it. That's how linear nuclear molecules cut in the body, when they meet each other. For the moving capability, a gravty equation is needed. The Boeing 707 contains the nuclear code, where the 0 point is the cuttig point of the boiling linear molecules in the body.
