With regards to the deserting Legionnaries, I'm currently playing a campaign as the Salian Franks and had to learn the hard way ( 2 almost full stacks going rogue over the end turn, among other incidents) that you never leave any units outside of a Settlement or boat without an attached general. They will always go independant.

Especially when the faction leader just died. There's a huge increase in likelihood of armies revolting then.

I'm enjoying this series more than most Medieval 2 Total War games because I studied this time in history (a long time ago and I barely remember anything). Watch out for the Goths. There's only so much Cure and Smiths and Nine Inch Nails anyone can reasonably be expected to listen to, and all the angst and moping... dont get me started.

About the crash, this is a graphic overload ctd, it’s been one of our most consistent issues and I haven’t been able to fix it while keeping info cards. So far the only thing that permanently fixes it is renaming insularisdraco/data/ui/unit_info (and thereby disabling unit info cards. I’m sorry about this.

Monasteriolum is the Latin name for what turned into Quentovic, a huge trade center in the early middle ages and, if developed, it can house the biggest of all ports, the 'Emporium' or 'Wic', alongside places like Dorestad and Ribe. I might just give it to the Romans in the next release.

in atilla slingers/hurlers are devastating, or were. I use them and javelin to flank around one side while a spear unit guards them, and cav/flank other side.

I believe shield wall increases the overall "mass" of your unit, making it better at resisting a cavalry charge.

Anyone else having significant FPS drops in battles with huge unit sizes? Wondering if there's a fix to that or you have to play with small unit sizes?

Make sure you don't have unit detail set to "highest" in the graphical options. It seems very poorly optimized for some reason. The mod *is* recommended to play on small though because it's more historically accurate for this period, and you do get used to it quite quickly.

@@SorcererDave Thank's Dave, that fixed it. The only thing is that my game is crashing at the end of the Catalaunian Plains opening battle. Does the mod have a forum or discord I can refer to?

I've had a lot of stability issues with this mod that have killed a few campaigns. It's a shame, but it still needs some work.

There is an atilla mod that allows you to take control of empire as Majorian, fun mod, on workshop, stable. Play on legendary. good luck!

Has anyone else experienced significant FPS drops when trying to play battles with huge unit sizes? Kinda want to play with the maximum size but having significant FPS drops in battles. Was wondering if you experienced this SorcererDave or anyone else.
