I'm level 18 on my current new run in Cyrodiil, and I have around 27K. I usually have way more by now in base game and also have broken the game more than I have this run. I feel like the spell selections, alchemy shops, merchant gold amounts, and armor/weapon tier selections are heavily nerf'd to discourage powercreep. I've found some golden saint armor and was able to buy Ebony armor from the EEC shop in Anvil, but that's because I traded them a half filled grand soul gem for it, which is something you can do in base Morrowind anyway. The loot amount is appropriate and requires a good amount of exploration and situational awareness to find if you want the good stuff, and you can't just buy your way to the top through the provided merchants. That being said, I still can't find a great sword worth a damn. Bought a Nordic Claymore at the Bazaar, then ditched it when I got the enchanted silver greatsword from the Fighter's Guild. But Silver/Nordic at level 18 is such a bad tier to have, and I keep finding/receiving 1H swords the most out of anything. Diversity of the loot seems to be a big problem, not the amount of it.

Also, in my experience, traps are usually fairly weak, but to be fair, one of my focus attributes is always willpower because shrugging off magic is fun. Also normally play as an Argonian, which have resistances against disease and poison. Pair that with the high willpower and it's rare that opening magic attacks do much to me most of the time, because it seems like poison spells are the most common ones enemies will use outside of daedra.

I know it's not Dave's style but I hope he'll visit Anvil relatively soon and not when he's so high level that all the low level loot in Abecean Shores is of no longer use to him.
