This game is just inspirational. The fact AAA gaming as a whole doesn't even compare to this game is just so fucking sad. Marco and his team just does everything right. With a few notable exceptions I'm done with AAA bullshit. I'm just gonna be chilling playing good AAA and good indie games like Easy Red II. You all should do the same!

12:13 Mate, after all those years of play Morrowind you don't know that you can catch diseases by interacting with diseased animals...I think you can afford to be a little less arrogant.

It's overrated, despite it's main fanbase claiming other players are too arrogant to learn how to play without navigational UI like a compass. It literally is so easy to become overpowered and one shot anything due to the sheer amount of random strong items. There's a literal amulet that gives 80% Chameleon at Level 1.

I must say, being a huge fan of WW2 video games, consoles are terrible. PC gamers have it made. Ps5 has cartoon kiddy games like COD. BF5 had potential, but died because of fragile coward devs. Sad.

Saw the Battle of Kwajalein on there and immediately was in. I Lived on Kwajalein Island for 5 years as a kid and we heard about the Japanese fortification of the island and were still able to see some of the old concrete bunkers dotted about the Atoll but that it made it into a Video Game is super cool to me!!! It also gave me Hell Let Loose flashbacks though lol

8:35 Dyed in the wool Loner here. I am planning (eventually) to mess around with other factions via Anomaly, though. 9:50 Man, it's sights like this that make STALKER feel like coming home for me. Shame I probably won't be able to snag HoC on launch. 12:39 Speaking of WW2 antiques, I poked around with how damage and armor works in this mod and ye olde Three-Line Rifle and the SVT-40 are probably some of the best early weapons for Loners. 22:11 Under the right conditions, I discovered that mutant-based food can just break the game. You need some pricey stuff, but you basically never need to buy food again. 23:59 Bloody cats. I hope they're less bullshit in HoC. These modded ones infuriate me, they're more bullshit than even CoP bloodsuckers. 24:29 I really don't like the anomalies in Anomaly, tbh. They're practically invisible, which kinda makes it feel very "gotcha", especially with base Anomaly's detector sound. Anomaly has grown on me, I do like some things in it... but there's still a lot that doesn't feel right. 32:00 You can still repair with components (barrels, etc), but you need a workbench and the proper kit. I completely repaired an F2000, and a G36 with the parts from an M4 that I repaired up. I just kept disassembling guns and using the "pristine" parts. 32:20 Technically, yes. For a gun that damaged, you either pay or find parts. Almost nothing repairs 6% condition. 39:04 One of the few situations I've found IEDs to be useful. 47:17 Reminds me, I need to finish my screenshots of settings. So much fiddling. 49:40 Fun fact: you can have 3 weapons equipped at once in this mod. 2 "primaries" CoP style, and you can put a pistol in the knife slot. 52:07 I'm betting 2 shots. 58:03 This is why I installed a mod to bring back the ShoC detector sound. I would have experiences like this walking, not sprinting. 1:01:35 The Zone is my happy place. that probably says something deep and meaningful about my mental state, but I don't care. 1:03:11 I'd also toss in a drinking/card game. Just for variety. 1:03:39 That's a relic from ShoC. I think all the official titles let you trade "something" with anyone who isn't interested in removing large portions of you with lead wrapped in copper. 1:05:50 I wouldn't say that's too strong a wording. Compared to based STALKER, even Anomaly is much more vicious. I've always gotten weird looks saying the based games aren't hard, but they're really not. The way I always phrase it is along the lines of "the Zone is apathetic to your existence". It will absolutely kick your ass to the curb, but it's not openly hostile to your existence. 1:07:50 I highly doubt that. I don't know what to expect, but that clashes so hard with the STALKER vibe that I'm not counting it as a possibility. 1:08:22 Sweet health regen bacon! 1:11:10 I've intentionally avoided these missions, because SVD fire. You basically need a scoped weapon for finding who not to shoot, or wait for the big gun to go off and not shoot that guy. 1:12:15 I only know that the "shotgun" is the SVD because I've used an SVD in Anomaly, and spent a lot of time in Anomaly in general. 1:22:49 GAS CAN! The merchant had the special cooking thing, and there's gas. Only one piece missing for game breaking food. Field cooking kits are a great source of plastic, if you make your own meds. 1:24:45 I just remembered, you can combine things like the field cooking kits and medkits if you have a bunch with uses depleted.

I turned off the detector noise because it goes mental in areas with high anomaly density. I'll just navigate by paying attention and throwing bolts, thanks.

I'm honestly not sure why DaC has superseded MOS this hard, wasn't MOS perfectly fine to play? Sure, the turn times were longer, and it had fewer factions, but it combined like half a hundred submods with crazy scripts and what not. It feels unfair how forgotten it has become? - Adûnâi

This game at its core is excellent, but it definitely could use some improvements to smooth out some of its rougher edges (like the unusualy slow and inconsistent aiming animations and the terrible A.I.). Overall, this is best budget Battlefield-like game that I've come across so far.

Agreed, this is my favorite WWII game as well. Another thing this game does really well is give you the sense of chaos during an enemy push, then the slight hush between storms while the enemy prepares for their next wave. You get to catch your breath, and then the smoke canisters start landing around you, and you know what’s coming next. Enduring an incoming artillery barrage while healing your fellow soldiers while under small arms fire; it’s glorious!

Some historical context for the first Tunisia mission: the first battle of the campaign took place at Medjez-el-Bab on 19 November 1942, where the Vichy French Commandement Supérieur des Troupes de Tunisie (or CSTT, convoluted name for the division stationed in Tunisia) decided to make their stand after slowly evacuating men and materiel westward throughout the previous week after Axis forces began landing in Tunisia. After Operation Torch and until that point, it was not 100% clear whether the Vichy North African Army would rejoin the Allies, or just remain neutral under Allied (Algeria/Morocco) or Axis (Tunisia) occupation. Medjez was at a crucial geographical juncture and also within reach of approaching Allied forces, so General Georges Barré, commanding the CSTT, decided to make his stand there and refuse the German ultimatums on the morning of 19 November, signaling the French Army's reentry into the war (aside from the small Free French fighting since 1940). The 5th Fallschirmjäger Regiment launched their attack at 10:45am. The French infantry and armor holding the town were reinforced at 2:00pm by British paratroopers of the 1st Parachute Battalion, represented in the later phases of the mission. The Allies managed to hold the town against the attack, but chose to evacuate it the next day to consolidate their lines. There was a failed British counterattack on 24 November. Like the Allies on the 20th, the Germans then decided to consolidate their lines and pulled from Medjez on the 26th upon which it was reoccupied by the Allies, though the area would remain contentious and near the frontline all the way through spring 1943.
