I was the person who wanted to invite Frankie to participate in a panel discussion after the Charlie Hebdo shootings. We were really sorry he said no - he'd have been great.

He sees through what we all see through, the thin vale of the hypocritical absurdity

Frankie's the last person who should be talking about hypocrisy though. This is the guy who condemned Ricky Gervais for making jokes about transgenderism in his stand-up routines, even though he has made a career out of edgy, contentious, offensive comedy. I mean for example he once made a joke about Katie Price's disabled son Harvey, not that I am necessarily condemning him for it, but what gets him to decide what is more potentially offensive than something else. This is the difference between him and Ricky. Ricky doesn't discriminate, Frankie does. Quite frankly he's become a bit of a woke dick.

No he's not. He's a middle class comedian. Not a hero. If this is your idea of a hero, you've had weak ass role models in your life and you need to educate yourself.

A man got offended after seeing his face after getting tanned. How could the mirror do that to him, he asked!

The problem is nowadays. People seem incapable of hearing or seeing something, read between the lines and make their own minds up. They are so use to being told what to think and how to think about things. I think the best example was Love they Neighbour. Yes the main character was racist. But he always came of worse and showed himself up. But the powers to be say the show is racist. Dispite it back firing on the racist.

People were happier in the days before Political Correctness, I think. Now everyone's angry all the time. Calling for the banning of this and the banning of that. The only person who used to behave like that was Mrs.Mary Whitehouse. Now everyone's at it.

Boyle slagged off Clarkson but hes no different.

He's smarter, more self-aware, doesn't punch colleagues for daring to say no, and does prance and preen for the racists in the country for a few extra coin. Boyle has consistently stayed true to his principles, which has seen him marginalised and censored. Clarkson, by contrast, courted outrage for it's own sake, demanded to be sucked up to (which the Beeb willingly did) when he finally crossed a line even they couldn't ignore, physical assault on a colleague, he had the nerve to claim he was being poorly treated. Boyle could have relented, towed the line and made much more money at the BBC. Clarkson courted bigots for money. He took them with him to work for Bezos and was never indanger of losing a single penny. Some fairly big differences, right there.

Tbh, I think Frankie misses the point when it comes to political issues. I love his standup, but when he starts talking politics, he misses the target big time. Calling the British Empire the birth of slavery (when actually they were the first real power to ban it at a cost that we didnt finish paying until 2015 of the tax payer) is just an example of one.

Frankie's point is spot on and you have fuly validatred it. The Tax Payer paid the compensation but the rich kept their riches. Privalige for the Rich DID, DOES and WILL exist.

Why do people always make this point as if it's at all good? The British took full advantage of the slave trade, and in fact from the 1690's through the entire 18th century the British (although mostly just the English) were by far the biggest seller of slaves from Africa around the world. It cost so much to ban it because we took so much advantage of it and relied on it so heavily that Britain really had no fall back to replace that stream of income from free labour. Saying it's all moot because we 'were the first ones to ban it' is like saying it's okay that you were kidnapped if your kidnapper lets you go. In fact.. it's not like that, it's literally that.
