What happened to Europe? I'm curious. This may have nothing to do with what you are thinking, but in the early and mid 90s I heard that musicians could actually make a living doing music there and actually be respected for it. I'm a classical musician. I don't know if that applied to other music or not. But that blew my mind because in the US it is extremely difficult to make a living from music. There is just not enough work and there are just not enough people interested, especially in classical music. We are also often seen as fools and shamefully impractical for even trying. I'm wondering if Europe is the same now as it was back then. It's the heart of Western culture. I would hate to see that disappear. I hate to see any culture disappear.

When i listen to this song, i am instantly transferred back to my 18th birthday. My friends and i were at the Monastery dance club in Seattle, when i heard this song for the very first time. I can still smell the clove cigarettes and Aquanet hairspray. Oh what an exciting time of life! I really do miss it sometimes.

I worked in a nightclub serving food in Ireland when this came out. I was only 16 then( my father would have gone mad if he knew!) but I remember being very moved by this song…. I’d sit in a corner listening while the slow sets were on waiting to collect the plates!😆

The performance as shown in this video may seem a bit outdated, but personally my memories to this date back to the 80ies so imagine how the impact was back then at the local roller skater in Harelbeke, Belgium in those days? It was just amazing and mind-blowing. Being 16 trying to impress the girls and trying to keep on the roller skate track in tune at the same time.. What a time!

A.A.E. were then invited back the next week to play 'live' because of the uproar. But This is an exception. Status Quo once got so out of their heads they fell over and trashed the drum kit but the tape machine kept on playing..hilarious.

Some Artists absolutely hated doing it leading to it being relaxed rule by the Union in ‘91 but it oddly lost its charm when it did so.
