"Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is a song released in April 1967 written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio. It was recorded as a single by Frankie Valli. The song was among his biggest hits, earning a gold record and reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a week. Gaudio was a bandmate of Valli's in the Four Seasons. It was Valli's biggest solo hit until he hit No. 1 in 1975 with "My Eyes Adored You"

Both are excellent songs, but to me this is better than the #1 hit from 1975. It had less competition than the 1967 #2 hit had. 1967 was a groundbreaking year for pop and rock to put it mildly (Sgt Peppers, Are You Experienced, the Doors, etc.).

Phillip Isayev There’s this video with somewhere around 80M views called “Frank Sinatra- I Love You Baby” but the song in the video was a cover from Morten Harket, so a lot of people mistake Morten Harket’s cover for being Frankie Valli and if people watched that video first, they would mistakenly think it was Frank Sinatra who did the song. It’s quite easy to spread misinformation if you don’t do research.

We’ve been through a lot of ups and a lot of downs but we genuinely love each other. We were driving to Florida last March and I was listening to my playlist, and this song came on and I look over as he’s driving. A rant from me. My husband took his own life in February and when he was hospitalized, I was crying holding his hand and this song started playing on the random playlist that was on ringing on my cell phone, and I understood, it was time to let him go. And shortly afterwards I saw him pass away, holding his hand and with a lot of pain in my heart. And that pain is still here. Because she never goes away, she will always be there, i can try, but the grief will always persist, when i think of him, the grief returns and i cry. But we need to understand, that sometimes it's better that way... It could be different, but if it wasn't, there's a reason.❤ I love you Mahmoud forever, you will always be the love of my hole life❤

Saw him in Charleston SC a few years ago at age 82. He stayed on stage for two hours and sang all the oldies. Amazing!!

You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of you You'd be like Heaven to touch I wanna hold you so much At long last love has arrived And I thank God I'm alive You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off you [Verse 1] Pardon the way that I stare There's nothing else to compare The sight of you leaves me weak There are no words left to speak But if you feel like I feel Please let me know that it's real You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off you [Hook] I love you, baby And if it's quite alright I need you, baby To warm a lonely night I love you, baby Trust in me when I say: Oh, pretty baby Don't bring me down, I pray Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay And let me love you, baby Let me love you [Chorus] You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of you You'd be like Heaven to touch I wanna hold you so much At long last love has arrived And I thank God I'm alive You're just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off you [Hook] I love you, baby And if it's quite alright I need you, baby To warm a lonely night I love you, baby Trust in me when I say: Oh, pretty baby Don't bring me down, I pray Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay And let me love you, baby Let me love you

this video is a testament to his vocal talent - no lip synching, just perfection

He is lip syncing...he lip synched live for years!!!! .there is no band playing behind him just a empty drum set.... His mic is shut off it was just a TV skit...welcome to the harsh reality of classic music 😂 if you listen really hard you will soon realize everybody's favorite bands back in the 60s and 70s tv performances are lip synched 😂 even you guessed it the Beatles
@RushCountyChorale Жыл бұрын
@@tylerskott4903 There is a difference between singing to dubbed-in music and lip synching. There is no doubt he is singing this time. At 01:30 he actually sings louder than is good for the audio. You are correct to say a lot of the videos are just lip synching, but not this one.
@yitwailu220 күн бұрын
@@tylerskott4903it’s very unlikely you get the mic feedback at 1:12 if this was lip synced. 😉

My parents danced to this at their wedding. I tear up every time I hear it, it's one of the most beautiful love songs ever written. I got to play in the horn section for this song in college, it was still a struggle not tearing up while I played it.

This is one of the great tunes to come out of the 60s. Frakie Valli's recording of this Bob Crewe/Bob Gaudio song is also one of the all-time great recordings with Artie Shroeck's iconic arrangement.

If you look at how far away he holds the mic on the chorus you easily see how powerful his vocals are.
@DailyBrusher8 жыл бұрын
I love how he's really belting the chorus, so he has to hold the microphone about 18 inches from his mouth!
