Another one of the great groups from the 60's. Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons had so many hits together such as "Silence Is Golden", "Sherry", "Walk Like A Man", "Rag Doll", "Candy Girl", "Ronnie", "Dawn", "Let's Hang On!", "Working My Way Back To You", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "I've Got You Under My Skin" etc. When Frankie went out on his own in the 70's, he had the hit songs "My Eyes Adored You" & "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". Also he had a hit with the song "Grease" from the movie. Always loved that he was able to sing in a falsetto voice.

This great song was also featured in the movie "The Deer Hunter" with Robert DeNiro, Meryl Streep, Christoper Walken, John Savage and John Cazale.

Smooth! Smooth, super sixties smooth. You know you've got the classic version when the tambourine kicks in during the big chorus before the song turns around to start again with a Motown like sound of four piece combo and strings. Dig how the various instruments subtly introduce themselves in the opening verses before all joining together as a full orchestra. And that drum line -- right from the start it guarantees a groovy vibe. When you're ready for more from Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, check out "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Sherry", "Walk Like A Man", "Who Loves You", "My Eyes Adored You", and "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" among others.

Frankie married my cousin, Randy, back in the 80's. They divorced a while back, but I had been around him many times in the past. Super nice guy. Humble and kind.

Do you know how he felt about Clint Eastwood’s portrayal of his life? I’m pretty sure he worked with Eastwood to some degree as a consultant. Just curious if he was happy with the film?

A song where he hardly sings at all. There are so many way better Frankie Valli songs than that.

@@andreaschmall5560 so? It’s a great song and it was merely a suggestion. I’m aware that there are better songs.
@andreaschmall55609 ай бұрын
@@loisvansciver9194 My point is that there is another singer who sings lead and does most of the singing on that particular song, so if someone really is going to appreciate Frankie Valli's unique voice, there are no shortages of great songs to choose from which are his exclusively.

Bob Crewe was The Four Seasons producer and Bob Gaudio was a co-founder of the Four Seasons with Frankie Valli (also played keyboards in the band). Gaudio wrote and/or co-wrote pretty much all of The Four Seasons' hits. Even into the '70s when he stopped performing with the band and became their songwriter/producer.

Biz, there must be a lot of Patreons that are a decade younger than me, because everyone reacting to Frankie Valli seems to only react to this later songs., which are fine, but you really need to go back to the 60's to hear Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. "Dagmar" has the long list, but my personal best starters would be "Sherry" and "Walk Like a Man". Sherry is actually pretty funky; somehow it got onto a list of "Most annoying songs", which is a travesty, they probably don't like falsetto or something....see for yourself!!

What up Biz? I gotta tell ya brother, I STILL carry "Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons - Anthology" in my car everywhere I go AND a copy at home. "Sherry" & "Marlena" are my all time favorites! Oh, and btw, "Gaudio & Crewe" wrote most of their songs, and Bob Gaudio was a founding member (and keyboardist), of the band. Singer/songwriter/producer Bob Crewe also wrote hits for Lesley Gore, Michael Jackson, Bobby Darin, Roberta Flack, Peabo Bryson, Patti LaBelle, Barry Manilow, and many, many other artists. They were inducted into the "Songwriters Hall of Fame" in 1995. Peace out! ✌😎
