This is a very sweet song. No smut or innuendo, just saying how he has loved her, and she doesn't even know he exists. I had that same experience with one of the girls on my block. She was a couple of years older than I was. I finally got the nerve to say hello. Nothing romantic ever became of it, but she turned out to be a wonderful life long friend.

There was a time when people respected others and did the right thing because they were raised that way--respect for your parents, your teachers, your public servants, your sweetie and most of all, yourself. Doing the right thing wasn't seen as a weakness; it was a sign of strength and maturity. These songs reflect those days.

This song came out and instantly transported me back to the 60s, the 4th grade and the lovely Norma. She was the first girl I literally loved. We were really close and constantly teased by the other kids. We didn't care. Then...she moved away....broke my heart. Her last day and I was a total jerk. Wherever she is I apologize from the bottom of my heart. I never felt anything like that before.

People argue that music doesn't influence you. Your mood sets the rest of your day or helps you make it good or bad. Growing up listening to this kind of music all the time... yes, we were in great moods.. kind, thoughtful, fun and friendly... I miss it.

This song reminds me of my first secret crush. I wanted to sing this song to her, but, I was too shy. We both were in 6th grade when this song came out.

Yep,..... in high school my best friend was a girl. I was so in love with her I couldn't see straight, but I never said a word to her.. I knew she saw me a nothing more than a friend so I keep my mouth shut.

Back in the day. But now in this day YOU remind those of us who grew up with it and you spread it to a large new audience. You dance like you feel it as we did. Love it and you.

Frankie Valli's work crossed several decades. I think old school music has more "stories" to tell than more recent works. Does that make sense?
