The Jersey boys (SHERRY, BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY, WALK LIKE A MAN, RAG DOLL)were one of the greatest groups to come out of an era that gave us the Beach Boys and the Beatles. This song made the Tremeloes super-stars.

Oh especially when someone is her Silence is golden, But my eyes' still see Silence is golden, golden But my eyes' still see But my eyes still see A talkin' is cheap, people follow like sheep Even though there is nowhere to go How could she tell he deceived her so well Pity she'll be the last one to know Silence is golden, But my eyes' still see Silence is golden, golden But my eyes still see How many times did she fall for his line? Should I tell her or should I keep cool? I like that one too. I was fortunate to see Frankie and the Four Seasons at a nightclub back around 1975. The keyboard player was sort of the spokesman for the group. He poked fun at the Tremolos version as it was note for note the same version the Four Seasons had originally done.

After listening to their original recording of this song, I'm glad they decided to speed up the tempo, taking a tip from The Tremelos (their version was the bigger hit at the time it was released). I personally prefer the Tremelos release, but I do like this one, especially the harmonica. ;)

The Tremeloes cover was a note for note copy of the 4 Seasons original. They increased the tempo a bit, but that's about the only difference. This arrangement is either the 4th or 5th version Valli's used for a live performance. Bob Crewe and Bob Guadio collaborated to write the song.
