I think Frankie’s Nursery got it from Wahiawa Botanical Garden where it was found as a natural created hybrid.

Yes, I believe I shared that information in a group a few years ago. I contacted the man that brought it to the mainland and also the nursery and got the background. I believe Leo Manuel called it Frankie’s Red as you can see in the photos in this video.

My Frankie's Red that I won from you has set roots but zero growth all last summer. Any suggestions? The other 3 are doing just fine

It’s a slow growing variety that likes heat. I bet it will grow this summer. Glad they are doing well

Wow, this was a beaming review! Would I be able to purchase a cutting from Frankies Nursery or was this a gift among friends? Currently I am growing a Megalanthus propped from a grocery store fruit, and am looking to purchase an S8 from a reputable source as well. Thank you for the videos, theyre always a treat to watch.

@RAREDRAGONFRUIT I have a few buds coming in. I try to cross my plants whenever possible, but I haven't seen a significant increase in size yet. We'll see this year 🤞
