I’ve been told everyone has a little of each type, but the goal is to find the closest match. It might make sense to dig into a book with details. When I did, I read one number until it didn’t feel like me anymore. Then move on to the next type, until you find the closest to you. Also, we’re all basically one number, with a “leaning” to the numbers on each side. For example, I’m a 7, but have a leaning to 6, and sometimes an 8, depending on the situation. I hope this heals?

For the longest time, I used to argue with people about all the reasons why I wasn't a type 8 because I didn't like how bossy the personality type sounded, and I wanted to convince people I wasn't domineering... It took me far too long to realize the irony of my intentions. PS. I personally prefer Enneagram to MBTI. I like how it mainly focuses on fear and desire, two of life's biggest motivators. I think it to be a better guide for life in this way. If you understand that which motivates you, you'll know how to rule your own life. (At least, that's my opinion on the matter.)

5w6 INTJ. And a woman. Knowing that the 5 seeks independence above all, knowledge in all its forms, and avoids the idea of invading their intimate territory. Then, knowing that type 6 seeks above all security and stability, often provided by a group. And finally, knowing that a woman is meant to be compassionate and caring, according to the society. Yeah. Wow the exact same situation personality-wise like my mother and I, we don't understand each other much at all, at times it's very difficult to live together and to communicate because of these differences in how we see things. If I’m being entirely honest, the four and three really, really hit close to home. Almost too close really, he described it perfectly how I need to be different, and how I need to have something original that people can remember me by It’s kinda funny to me cause I’m really introverted and hate being the center of attention, but at the same time that’s exactly where I need myself to be in order to feel good about myself lol

An interesting point about type 6's being so common: I'm a 6 and can say from experience that 6's often can see themselves in others because 6's have a strong tendency for projection. My point is I wonder if it was a 6 who reported that half the world is other 6's 😅

Ive always been extremely confused with enneagrams because it just doesn't seem to add up, i took a first test and got type six but that was nothing like me then i took a different one and got type three and again a different one and got type four, it literally messed with my brain cause none of it actually sounded like me or how i view things so i just came to the silly conclusion that 'i dont have an enneagram' but i actually learned more about it and its wings and finally concluded that im a 4w5, it might seem a bit confusing to some at first but thats why you need to dive in cause you cant just search once about something and just assume you know it all, and its actually great to learn that its normal to be confused about something like this

Where I live social status is incredibly important so even after I stopped Fe I had to build up a different personality so that I wouldn't get scolded by the teachers. "Defend themselves by building emotional walls and denying vulnerability"; "fear being hurt by others", "fear being controlled by others" sounds about right. Also 8s are said to turn into 2s when happy (when I'm happy I'm more of an ENFP style but also like gifting others and doting on them) and into 5s when stressed (massive overthinking and analyzing).

And I found a lot of solace in your talky videos about random fears and deeper thoughts because you talked about things I thought about, and I felt like you understood. And that made me feel a lot less alone with myself at that time. Now it all clicked together for me, why that might have been the case. I feel ya. I’ve known about my typing for both systems for 11 years but still am learning new things about myself, or fall back into the people pleasing in order to keep things calm. But we gotta lean into that 3 energy, even though it is uncomfortable if we want to grow. Thankfully my brother-in-law is a type 3 so I consider myself very fortunate.

Best book I ever read on personality types is "Who Are You Really?" by Gary Null. Spot on and relatable.

The musician Sleeping At Last did a whole album on each of the types. I highly reccomend it!

I think I'm a 9/peacemaker, I found myself agreeing (laughing) to every peacemaker part you did. I used to be a major peacemaker when I was a child and I think that was derived from my parents they were thinking of seperating (maybe this is the INFP side of being this sensitive?) Their divorce never happened because I was able to communicate my mother and try to get her to see things his way (and his reactions to her actions, visa versa). They eventually re-created their bond with each other (something they did on their own) and are still together to this day. As I got older, I hate seeing best friends/couples argue and break up over trite things. Hearing about normal people divorcing makes me cringe even though that may be the healthiest choice for them. I became interested in abusive conflicts, which carried over into my degree choice (veternary forensics covers animal neglect & abuse) and in my fantasy books when I switched to being a writer, but I don't know if that is an attritube of the peacemaker. I do go with the flow, but my INFP side creates a moral standard that I don't cross, but I try not to interject and tell people what to do with their lives (unless they asked for help). That being said, I wonder.... Is the enneagram number an umbrella of expected MBTI types? Or does each MBTI have flavors/subtypes that are the nine enneagram types? I find that the MBTI is how you react to/strive towards stimuli (such as social interactions) and the enneagram is how you solve the perceived problem.

Lmao I like the blooper, gotta admit I was beginning to watch the kids/adult playing outside more than you at one point. It was rather wholesome seeing it tbh.

You may have felt abandoned in your childhood even if you actually weren't
